  Installing things in general is way faster. apk add nginx often only takes 1-2 seconds, while apt (debian/ubuntu) takes like 10 seconds.

  Wonder if it has to sort and reindex way more packages or phone out to multiple repos or something. Seems like network level latency

  Oh that's actually a great setup you have there. Also for connecting are you using plain old SSH or do you have a VPN as well like Tailscale or something?
