    Wow that's a really long time. So, veteran members joined even before that?!!

    I didn't have an account in my early years, and even though my account says I joined in 2016, I wasn't very active then either. Was always a lurker, just coming around to snag deals when I needed an affordable VPS for a project. RackNerd is what finally got me to participate, believe it or not.

    So, that seems to be a common theme. The same can be said for me as well. I was looking for some cheap webhosting ofers. I knew about webhosting forums catering to that. But, never knew of LET before that. I joined and looked for a few offers and found out what I had been missing. Fortunately, when I joined the RackNerd BF party was on. Won a few merch and a VPS with the random GAs and that's what got me hooked. Participated in the NY thread and the rest is history.

    Can't you do it under playback settings? Afaik there's no way to permanently disable the transcoding server wise. You can try to see it under users settings as well there might be an option to do that as well.

    As I had mentioned earlier, go to their client downloads page and only use their official clients to play. When you play using th browser or anything else, it will transcode, as a normal mostly.

    What OS are you trying this on and what client did you use?

    Check this as well - https://forum.jellyfin.org/t-how-to-disable-transcoding following that you could try disabling transcoding on a per-user basis.

    If even that doesn't work, I guess, it's your media format. Maybe some of that non-mainstream coded that even the client doesn't support.

    What's 4vcs? Is it virtual cores? If yes, that won't automatically disable transcoding but would only help handling the transcoding load very minimally.
