Ofcourse the bigger issue is having root account enabled by default.
OvH is one provider that would do non root accounts (except during rescue)

It is a idle machine anyway which explain why it used the weak password

Interested to see how the results of a 2024 provider poll will go. Assume there’s one planned later in the month? Having a look at last years results, a few of the top five had a much more lowkey BF/Xmas period this year and the same ones I have in mind have also had to deal with a bit of negativity stemming from growing pains or the like pretty recently.
Crunchbits took their move to combat abuse with the service that they knew short term was gonna impact them, and currently HostHatch seems to have a fair bit of angst in their threads around late service delivery.

CB is finally get around to doing migrations from promo plans to their newer stack, at least in WA. I had a couple of VPSes migrated today.
Its been taking them a long time to get to it, but I know there's been delays across the board there - not just the promo VPSes, but things like dedis and LTOs (I guess due to Eric's health problems) - at least based on their Discord server.
Maybe 2025 will be different

Thank you, I would say if it wasn't due to pressure on other side like work and family it would have been better, but everything just kinda piled together and LET is like my only form of entertainment and place to vent.
