Time zone display by LET Vanilla

edited March 2012 in General

Hi folks,

Just got my membership approved and when I logged in, one of the first things I noticed is post timestamps are no longer displayed in UTC. Instead it's shown in my local timezone - since this forum has no option to specify tz, i believe LET guessed my tz from IP geolocation??

It's done in Javascript, using your system's clock time.

  • That, or a Javascript trick, I think is easier :P

  • It's magic.

Aha, that explains my surprise when I switched to a proxy in another country and still got the same tz..

    thanks everyone

It confused the hell out of me as had to do a double take of the system clock to make sure what time it is! (Im in the USA but a UK national)
