Finding difficult to see expenses clearly sometimes.

I mean there is a lot manual stuff involved for now.

    Google Sheets

    https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/free-office-online-for-the-web
    Free

it has been free for many years ....

regarding the windows OS ... one can get mini pc with Windows 11 Pro for under $130

Get a used Dell OptiPlex Micro off eBay for $60.

    yes, that works as well.
Windows 10 Pro key works for 11 Pro as well. (and vice versa)

Microsoft has now capitulated to reality and will let Windows 11 run on older PCs without resorting to tricks.

Windows Server 2022 / 2025 are better as compared to 11 Pro.
More Stable and designed to run 24x7

XP retirement date got extended and you could still buy and install supported Windows 7 on XP machines.

The issue here is Microsoft ending security patches for Windows 10 in October this year but not supporting those machines running 11. One of these things is likely to have to change.

Especially as 10 years ago the big pitch for Windows 10 was their claim that they were ending versioned releases of Windows and everyone would always be able to upgrade to the latest and greatest through rolling updates once they'd upgraded to Windows 10.

It's also kind of weird because Windows doesn't even technically need TPM to run, and even if they've added something to the OS that "requires" it, there's no reason it couldn't be a software implementation with the caveat that you stuff is less "secure".

It's $5 for a RPi with 10W of power (which isn't much, I have an SBC that can pull 30W)
$20 for an Intel NUC with 30W of power
or $31 for a SFF Tower with 110W

    I'll take the KS-A thanks.
