Do you have a link for what you use for this? Somewhere I've got a bunch of serial GPS receivers with the pulse pin for the seconds. Never occurred to me to turn it into an NTP source, but I guess this is probably exactly the right hardware for that.

A problem for those stuck QSFP-only I guess.

I now have exactly one device with SFP+ since I bought quite a cool Xiaomi router (4x 2.5G ethernet, 2x 10G SFP+ for about $30). I just need another one now so I can run some fibre to replace my 2.5G uplink to the office.

Any RPi should work excluding the Pi Zero.
