I can't really picture how huge that thing is going to be. I measured and it looks huge. Hard to picture it

serverless containers are different from serverless functions, example fly.io and vercel while fly.io provides container where i can deploy anything from go, js, php anything while on vercel i am more limited to JS functions.

    What browser is that?

    Opera mobile

Oh. I use Opera very spari gly only for their Vpn. Didn't know they had this feature though.

I used it for that often as well but people have been saying there are some issues with the vpn, can't recall what

Oh yah. They don't have a privacy oriented VPN. I just use it for testing and stuff, nothing serious

Do we know when the gleam giveaway winners will be announced? Will they be posted here or another thread?

You can go to the Gleam page on LEB soon to find out the winners. Raindog usually announces them within 1-2 days of the giveaway ending.

    I hope I win

    What do you wanna win?

    Credits, maybe? 😊

    Oh. Good luck then, dude.

    Thanks. How about you?

Luck has never been my strong suit. So, not looking for anything there. Would rather work for the prize pool on this thread.

Anything can happen though! You know that! Have faith! We all have a chance there

I'd rather have my faith set here on the thread. I just joined and did the daily entries on trh Gleam GA just for fun.
Anyways, I would root for you winning the TV on Gelam, if you promise to join us on the thread like youa re right now

Of course! Can't stop and won't stop the rack nerd party

Exactly. Keep the hype up, dude. And I really hope you get the TV one way or the other

I do hope so as well. It will replace some ancient tech in here

    What do you own presently?

A smaller 32" tv from many years ago

Oh the new TV will then be more than double that size! A great upgrade for the new year. Good luck, dude

Yeah just need to find a way to fit it somewhere!

Try to measure the wall diagonally to see if it will fit. Else, you might have to get a titltable mount and set it up in a corner of the room if that works.

I think i may have a corner i need to stick it in. Too many things along the walls to make it fit nice elsewhere

Oh, then the corner might be the spot for you. See if it fits though. It's better to manifest what you want before you get it.

I could always put it on the ceiling and lay on the floor perhaps

 Maybe flip the building 90 degrees when it's time to watch TV then.

@Beniskickbutt said: Looks like it's a lot easier to work with quick deploys of certain things. Almost point and clickish

not technically there are times you have to configure a dockerfile and have the platform do everything for you and there are times you have to build the image on your pc and push it to the container.

lol you can ask me, i have like 4-5 services running on these serverless containers, it's easy and super reliable like haven't seen a downtime more in years, the total downtime over two years wouldn't even come close to 5 minutes. And the best part, it costs almost nothing for me to utilize them.

Is this what the free tier of AWS micro or something does? I hear a lot of people used to always suggest some micro instance there

every browser base VPN claiming them VPN is half baked truth, they are just http/https proxy at best. Also i don't use browser based VPNs including opera's, i instead set the warp in proxy mode and use proxy switcher addon on firefox if i want to test something. As always connected to VPN isn't ideal for me this thing helps me greatly.

management and security, also the performance i get there is amazing for almost everything i do there. And ofcourse they are fairly easy to build and deploy something from git or a single configuration file.

aws has lambda for serverless functions and stuff for free, for container part i will end up paying for the ec2 instance even for smallest one it will cost around $1.7 /m for me so i usually don't go with aws.

That's something I should consider as well. It's just that, when I have to test some stuff to say block VPNs on my website or scripts, I just quickly fire up Opera
