The Intel Xeon E5-2620 v3 processor is a lower-clocked, power-efficient server CPU from Intel's Haswell generation, launched in 2014. A Geekbench 6 single-core score of 183 and multi-core score of 930, as shown, is consistent with what you might expect from this CPU, particularly for tasks run on Linux with AVX2 instructions.
He can cancel it and go to Other Provider.

AMD KVM VPS 2GB - Ohio @lnx
Anyone here have hostbrr Ryzen 9950x VDS and can share yabs?
Netcup RS1000 G11 (EUR 8.24/month Black Friday), 1 month after purchase.
GB6 is down 20% from 6800 to 5600, disk is down 30-40% since the the first YABS.
Is there a better deal for 1700/5600 dedicated core VPS with 512GB disk?
No, already hard with this CPU/RAM combo but especially not with this disk size.
For NetCup, consider the performance as 70-75% of dedicated VDS with unmetered cpu utilization permitted.
with 500GB NVMe disk, it is unbeatable considering the high daily bandwidth usage permitted (2 TB )

Decided to just use this with Windows because I don't have a spare NVMe knocking around, so this is completely stock as shipped and YABS inside WSL. Disk is supplied 1TB NVMe Crucial P3 Plus,
The cpu is on fire π₯
Amazing GB6 score and with GPU, this is a powerhouse!!! ππΌππΌ
Happy New Year 2025
Yeah, pretty crazy what these "laptop" CPUs can get when they have decent fans put on top of them and allowed to go up to 100W!
Haven't really tested out of the GPU yet, other than plugging a monitor into it - I haven't even installed the nVidia drivers yet!
Cheers! And to you!
I have an extinguisher at the ready!
Bwhahaha
You finally got it setup .
What ya planning to push on that?
I'm hoping the 4060 will be sufficient that I can do most of my day-to-day UE5 work on this box. There's a chance it might not as it's got less VRAM than my old 3080 card and it's supposed to have a lower memory bandwidth and fewer compute cores (although they're supposed to be quicker now, so who knows). But anyway, I don't need it to be as fast, just adequate for the task.
If all goes to plan, because this machine is so small, I can shove it in a rucksack and go travelling and still be able to work during the week rather than having to take off a big block of time at once.
M not much familiar with UE5... any ELI5?
absolutely this is portable enough. But what about screens? How will you tow that?
What is that "adjusted for swap and low memory" value?
Personally I'd just use GB5 for such configuration -- not only less memory-hungry but also more scalable to the number of cores...
Unreal Engine 5. It's what a large chunk of current games use, also used in film and video production work. It's a massive C++ project (on my 5800X it can often need a couple of hours to compile if I change an important header file) and when you're actually rendering stuff (which is what I'm doing when not compiling stuff) it maxes out the GPU.
But I'm lucky enough that my current workflow is for offline rendering, so it doesn't really matter too much what speed it runs at, just that it's possible to run it at all.
Most hotels I've stayed in when travelling have a TV with an accessible HDMI port, so I'll could use that. But I'll also have a laptop and so could remote desktop into it - and that's more pleasant than looking at a TV anyway.
Thanks for the ELI5. Learned something on the day 1 of 2025.
Woohoo
Wrt the TV. Yeah most hotels have that spare humidity port. In us most end up being locked down (atleast from couple years ago)
I enjoy the big screen sometimes, especially if outside my day to day routine.
I get it why not many like it. With laptops our neck is tuned to look down and it feels weird to look straight at eye level with TV.
I kinda dig it.
That is projected GB6 multi core score if the VPS had 2 GB memory. GB6 score is underrepresented when swap space is used
