It’s not random anywhere. I believe Apple Music started with fully random but got complaints it wasn’t random enough so they started doing it the accepted way.

On the desktop app its fine, it's random.
But on my phone, several times a week I get in my car, hit spotify on carplay and shuffle my standard playlist with 1000+ songs in it, and it'll play me the exact same shit i listened to yesterday in the same order unless I go and start it again
Spotify's random sucks. Apple's shuffle sucks (when the playlist is done). So they both suck at things

Spotify's public playlist is a big win. You can find game OSTs or soundtracks in a playlist together which is convenient, Apple doesn't allow that so it's a big loss. Also Spotify's daily playlists are nice.
Anyone know if theres an easy way to export or copy an entire playlist from Spotify to another platform like Apple Music? I assume it's probably not the case but I refuse to move platforms because I'm not re-curating my 1000+ playlist

I did this with my about 400 track playlist. Used some online tool with a limit of like 100 or something, don’t recall
My solution was that I split the OG playlist in 100 tracks or whatever batches. Migrated these, then merged at destination with CTRL A etc
Will have a looksy, been so locked into Spotify for years because of this but can probably get a nice offer on Apple Music or Youtube Music, I don't really use a lot of the music discovery features of most those apps I just add songs I like on my own

What I'd love is a warnerbro.st style tool to 'export' the songs from my current spotify account to, maybe lets say an mp3
You as a pleb can make a playlist called @emgh's shower songs and if you not make it private other Spotify users can search for it, follow it and listen it. That's how people create game OST playlists etc. There are playlists like 'God's favourite songs' etc.
On Apple, I believe you can't share your playlist with all users maybe only with your friends or followers, only Apple's own playlist can be searched.
For example, if you search for Baldur's Gate 3 OST in Spotify you could find around 10 playlists created by users, but on Apple you can only find it if Apple made such playlist.

Nah, you can find public playlists. There’s just that much fewer of them.
Songshift app on Apple is good, I moved my playlists without paying for it.
