Maybe your ip is blocked. Log into https://my.hostbrr.com and unblock it.
The blocking is indeed a tad aggressive if you don't change some rules. Also, the unblocking straight up doesn't work for me. But the performance and support are surprisingly good so far - all things considered, I would buy again!
If you have issues then do not wait days and then complain :-) Open a ticket and we'll solve it. Sounds like you've gotten blocked by the firewall. Easily fixed.

There are no dumb questions. DA is like cpanel, so basically, you can get your own hosting space and even use Nextcloud if you want an easier way to share and manage your files.
But if you only want to store your files. In my opinion, Rclone will give you a better performance and it can run on multiple OS.
Most of the time, I can saturate my upload speed to the storage box with Rclone.

You need a seed box for those. Maybe you can mount this on a seedbox
Seems good so far, and DirectAdmin is pretty nice! (Haven't used any shared hosting/control panels in years)
One little thing I will say about the ordering process though, is that due to the fact everything is greyed out until you select it, it made it seem like everything else was out of stock except the default plan which is selected

I haven't explored the available apps, from my point of view those DA storage packages are meant to be used for storage. If you really need to host a website or an application, you should use a proper package for it.

a stupid question, if i don't link a domain to the blockstorage and don't set up a nextcloud, then i can't share data from the blockstorage / make it accessible to other users, can i?
You can create FTP accounts and give people access that way
