It was a giveaway from @jnd ("It's time to giveaway one VPS I have no longer use for, I just got it approved for transfer.") but no idea when it was originally on sale.
I decided I wouldn't actually use it, as while it had epic RAM and fast network, the CPU was pretty slow so it was pretty much the opposite of what I need in a machine. I've passed it onto someone else who took part in that draw as it sounded like they'd be able to make use of it.

Yeah, to be used for moving services over to Clouvider. They're individual to each person, one per existing service. They said they will be checking who uses them and presumably invalidate the discount if they're used by someone they weren't issued to.

I am not happy with that at all, going to see if willing to upgrade the server for a small increase in monthly if not it will be canceled next payment is January 12th so I have to do it 7 days before that
