Imo, none, if you can handle your webserver without a panel. I did try Hestia as a beginner though. It was not bad.

I tried virtualmin in the beginnng in centos days. Later moved to terminal.

Oh yes, terminal FTW. I wanted lightweight so I chose aaPanel. The panel in itself was good but setting it up, omg, such a pain. Anyways decided to abandon them after I learned they were Chinese.

@Frobsy Are you digging the past?

So, what's up everyone? Do we have a common topic to discuss or are we meandering?

Nothing much.. checking here and Frobsy seems out of sync and spending time in past it seems. I think we should put a common disclaimer about this.. :p

xpress, as I said, we are on the internet. I plan to keep my promise. We could ask people to follow a set pattern, but it's never guaranteed though. Good luck to you, dude. Though I will say this, thai thread would be much better and welcoming even to new members of everyone followed a set of codes.

    Yup. Seems generation gap.. :p

  • I'm still using chrome on my laptop and chromebook (obviously) but I'm a bit annoyed they finally pushed out manifest v3/disabled ublock origin. I'm slowly switching to firefox for the stuff where I loved the addition of its ad blocking. The ublock origin lite (manifest v3 version) is just not the same.

Firefox is a solid move with that ad blocking game is on point. It’s just a shame ublock lite isn't the same but hey, gotta adapt

    Connecting to the real world

No not at all. It's a hard to explain situation, but my living situation isn't ideal.

    Without internet?

I have internet thanks to having a hotspot. But for some reason my roommates decided to bar me from our internet right after I paid rent. Ugh. Idk. Currently cracking the password hash, finally putting my 4070 to work I suppose.

I am curious as to why your roommates barred you from the internet. But, I guess that can be blamed on one of the 7 deadly sins. I am more interested in usage of the GPU in cracking the hash. What software are you using for that?

    Roommates? Long story.

But I can explain the tech stuff.

Booted from USB into Kali Linux to deauth clients so I could snag the key exchange, now using hashcat on Windows using CUDA drivers to crack the password using my 4070.

I don't advocate this in the wild, but I pay for this, so I am not breaking the law in my jurisdiction. Never hack anything you do not own.

Just gives me something to do until they wake up and explain what the issue is.

  • Firefox is my go to, on PC and laptops. On my phone, I have come to prefer Chrome. Maybe it's just a habit I need to break.

I’m always switching between Chrome and Edge, can’t really stick to one. Both get the job done, guess it depends on my mood lol

I'm not sure, but linux and NVIDIA are historically not good friends. So I grabbed the key exchange and went back to Windows where I know I'll get the most performance.

Oh yes, I am all for Linux and AMD combo as well. Coming from PS4 Linux, I can vouch for them. Even though pretty much most of the hardware is locked, I am pretty sure running Linux on PS4 would be a headache had Sony opted for Nvidia GPU as they did on PS3.

  • Recommend a mobile browser. Which one do you use? I am kinda used to Chrome a lot. But, recently, I have been making the switch to safer and better options, starting with the Windows to Lubuntu jump.

firefox with ublock origin is nice, that's what I would recommend. Some other swear by brave which I save give it a try to see if you like it. Everyone is different.

firefox with ublock origin is solid, no doubt. brave’s pretty good too, worth giving it a shot. honestly just gotta find what works for you, everyone’s got their own vibe.
