When i registered with Hetzner they gave option to send ID or make €20 deposit with PayPal, I made deposit and there was no problem after that

    Rekt @beanman109

i used to have a hetzner account, verified the same way
it got closed for an unpaid invoice of 0.25 euro

Meanwhile: I logged in to Scaleway like a week ago and paid a invoice from 2017. No issues, no fee added

They did charge a verification fee for the card though for like 10x the invoice. Don’t think it was refunded but didn’t check recently :(

i've always wanted to try scaleway but the boxes are always cheaper from oneprovider so i end up just buying through them

I am experiencing a whole different world with arm servers... It's like a leper colony. Different architecture, can't migrate stuff easily. U gotta learn to live differently albeit it's cheaper.

Saw the earlier discussion about it

If you don't want to go with the other suggestion like Ansible (great but learning curve) or Docker (great but for some use cases) then may I recommend moving away from the Arm server for Proxmox VE because the cost savings won't offset the extra time and hassle

You can set up a new PVE elsewhere, create a template to get started and use it set up the VMs or containers again

I am going the docker multi architecture route for now. But I am actually furious at lxc.... Lamp stack is so common, why not work at a multi architecture solution when the arm processors are beginning to penetrate every fking market. If Docker has a multi architecture solution then why can't containers have something. I realize the binaries are entirely different but this scenario of switching to arm from amd or vice versa is about to get very common, then why not make a tool that at least allows for easy migration between the two.

whlie I think 4004 series has better single thread performance

Yes, but so will be his price

Yeah, it doesn't support me throwing 512GB ram at it and praying, this will have higher performance so the price will be higher

Can you make a $3/yr package? Asking for a friend (@fat32)

Yes it's limited quantity anyway so the difference between $7/y or $3/y is not that much in total $
Imagine the publicity you get with $3/y deal vs $7/y deal

    10 quantity?

    Wait wait wait

Share specs & price of upcoming deal before posted please

Gotta see if one should prepare an account etc

    These are Specs:

    NY Location (VPS)
1 vCore (AMD EPYC 4004 Series)
    2GB DDR5
    30GB NVMe
    1gbit @ 20TB
    1x IPv4
1x /64 IPv6 (hopefully, still working on this)
    $3/mo, $8/qtr, 15/6mo, 30/yr

LET deal may be $3/yr for 10 stock  (coming soon?)

Nice, this will be a sweet, sweet deal! Looking forward to it!

This sounds like a docker / whatever-you're-packaging-your-stuff-with problem, not an lxc problem.

You could probably package things up so that you have binaries distributed separately to your config. I've not really used docker, but I kind of thought that was the whole point of it - you download the docker thing for your platform, add the yaml config stuff and it's done.

It's probably worth looking at how people solve this problem with stuff intended for use on linux and also macos, because the solution should be approximately the same.

I think unlike Docker, LXC containers are designed to provide more of an OS environment focus which requires greater interaction with system kernel and hardware, so they are more tightly coupled to system architecture and don't have same level of abstraction as Docker, making it more difficult to adapt
