It was, no longer active a community for learners to learn stuff about VPSs and such.
Well, I'm still thinking about that ๐ .
Sure.. All the best bro.
And be careful. This thread is under radar. For some reason lots of people hates RN threads.
Checked google. It seems some forum. You own it @TrK ?
Not owned by me... it was a project some of us contributed to... I had a great attachment there... Fixing user's VM for odd reasons and doing what not to make sure they get to experience the best we could do for them. I am thinking of spinning a new place but with different approach and might need a couple of VMs from here and there. I can afford some, some will be hosted on my homelab of course tunnelled(looking for a low latency high bw cheap ones) and ofcourse it will be all managed by me this time and an old friend of mine who knows me from like 2014. I need to figure out a name and other things as well.
Oh kk nice. This is what you're planning with the homelab then.
I used to be part of some community like in 2007 time. It was trap17 something. Later they changed name. Where we post and earn some cents something. And using the amount we can buy hosting and domains..
Thats how I first got into hosting things. This forum reminded me those days.
It's somewhat same...... although the approach i am thinking is somewhat different. I am not going to make it another post 2 host community i am more inclined to setup something much better which can actually help the average person with the stuff. I am more inclined to setup NATs instead of dedicated IP servers as the spam generated will be enough to destroy the core their... i mean i can provide some VMs here and there but it will be mostly focused on learning instead of getting a server just cause it's free
Actually thats a good approach you're following. Those days were different. Post to host will be like spam fest now.
You mean you will provide VMs from your home lab for learning? And you provide tutorials as well?
I'm going to use Mediawiki. It's the best one
I'm back, btw!
Do it one more time. 1+ comment for you as well.
What package were you using for the community? Vanilla?
Oh good luck then..tag me when it's complete.
Oh thought he had already taken it down when he said revive. Awesome.
Oh never heard of them. BTW I meant Apache, Nginx, OLS or something else?
Welcome back
Vpsnoobs.
pretty much close, will see if i want to do some changes on the plan.
Thought same. Then checked google and found that forum.
Then later you claim trademark on it, like belongs to me and resembles my username..
it was on MyBB and the next will be on flarum or either carbonforums(if i get enough time to fix it up).
All the best dude. So this will be your 2025s plan then.
It's just an dead archive now, or wait i haven't disabled registration i guess -_-
yeah it's troubling me since long, it just died when we had a breach. I want to do something better than that.
Just googled that. Feels like a good idea as well.
Thanks for the idea. Unfortunately, haven't yet copyrighted my username. Maybe it's time to
we will see, but it won't be limited to learning about VPSs only, there can be much more broader spectrum on these communities.
Oh, that's cool. MyBB was my favourite5-6 years ago. But, recently, I switched to Flarum and gotta say it's good.
tough luck, i sold adminforums some two years back
Let us know when it's back up and you have registrations open. I am not expert as you already know, but I would like to help out whenever I can.
