    I think the problem is the internet speed... I only have 100mbs... VPS usually have 1GBPs standard

    100mbps is more than enough for streaming. I got it working on a 25mbps.

    are you capped out at 25mbps for your typical speed?

    Hey, I was thinking of using a remote RackNerd server for running Jellyfin while a SATA drive on my home PC will act as the storage. I know this is unwantedly complicated, but this way I believe trh RackNerd server would act as a good transcoder while I can easily wokr with my media files. WDYT?

    worth a shot. Set it up and see how the performance goes. I think it will be slower in the long haul

    My only concern is it would almost be double bandwidth cause my home connection wills end data to my RackNerd server which would then come back to my home, if I am not wrong. Seems unnecessarily complicated. But, seems like a fun project

    yeah i'd probably hit my data cap at home as well with that setup. If the racknerd specs beat out your home pc specs it could pay off though

    Yah. Data limits don't matter a lot, cause almost ISP in India has a limit of ~3300GB on unlimited plans.

    pretty sure thats moer than what i have. I feel like im at 1000GB

    thats probably fine, maybe get sketchy with multi clients but definitly dont transcode
