Thats neat. But how do you manage the redundancies in network and power, esp in countries like us?
For example, If there are some political issues in your area, the govt simply disables internet surrounding your area for days.. Happened to us 2 or 3 years back. We didn't have internet for like around 3 weeks iirc.
Almost everything under the sun. The most recent topic was WP Engine vs WordPress drama. And, then we quickly took a slight turn into the lane on my recent projects which I wish to launch in the next few days.
oOoOO, what projects?
Good mornig DeusVult
No, it's the weather that should be blamed.
Home lab stuff and some random things here and there ๐
Mini-projects infact, 1blog, 2 comparison tables and 1 URL Shortener.
That will take lot more time it seems. Internet and bandwidth are two things govt is fingering too much I think.
Sounds like you are planning it pretty far this time ๐
I see! I'm thinking about creating a wiki and I can buy a .wiki domain for like 1 dollar ๐ค. And I have a blog also but I haven't written nothing yet
Don't mock me, bro.
It's a project I have been very passionate about. I wanna see where it leads to.
Alright. What's the wiki gonna be about. And, is the blog domain anything tech related?
The Catholic Church history (there's a domain called igreja.wiki (church.wiki in portuguese) available for 1 dollar, so it's perfect). And no, the blog will be mostly for any random thing, mainly audiobook reviews!
My area hardly witness internet lockdowns and even if there's one it's limited cell towers, fiber lines keep working as usual. As for redundant power and such. I am thinking of setting up measures for the same, a dual battery setup upgrade is also in the todo list and for the network I will just have multiple fiber cables running towards the home lab. Will need to see if they are able to patch up a direct drop point nearby instead of running the cables for a km or such.
More like me ๐
Can you imagine tata is tier 1 in US while our home country is suffering in connectivity I mean it's just funny ๐คฃ
Oh, and I didn't know you could get a wiki domain for $1. Which registrar btw?
Porkbun? Start writing then noob can help out ๐
LOL! I was trynna save you fom the truth, but, I guess, you are fully aware of the truth.
Oh yes, that I can. I am mostly into tech articles, but, I love almost every topic there.
Not mocking, everything starts from somewhere
You remember I got 2 different providers? They locked down everything including bsnl broadband, our fiber connections from govt and private and all..
Oh yes, this is my last resort infact. Spent too much time on these projects.
I do and it's funny ๐
If your area is not prone to cyclones like us, they may be long powercuts are not much for you, and battery may work though.
Sounds like it was a big deal... I will try to get a drop point before going commercial ๐
BTW, your comment on the URL shortener being blacklisted has me concerned. The shortener is currently hosted on a subomain related to my main domain. So, a blacklist will affect the primary domain and subdomain altogether. It'd be a good idea to move the URL Shortener alone to a separate domain then, Ig. WDYT?
Can't do anything. Our govt wants everything digital. But want to monetize and control all that.
Good enough ๐ will help out if needed.
Thanks, dude. Will get in touch with you, if I am in a pickle.
