Is anyone here watching Silo ?

The first season was so good. The second season I feel like has been elongated and could have been fewer episodes.

Yeah agreed. Didn’t watch the latest episodes of S2 yet but it feels like S1 moved faster.

The good thing is that they're renewed through to a planned conclusion. Which is great, as most shows today rarely make it to more seasons. But still season 1 was just so, so good, and season 2 does feel a bit elongated.

    Ditto

    Guys, what is FS-A?

    For Sure - Atroll

    I think

Have all the giveaways been finalized and concluded?

I believe dinoman reopened the thread so that any pending giveaways could be finalized.

Don't close yet! @SilverCreek still owes me a 7/y vps!

I still haven't managed to coax a reply from them about my $30/y 6/6/66 from the Christmas Eve auction either. Although with so many other toys acquired this holiday, I might just give up and spend my $30 on socks and start an OF.

  • @zGato said:
who didn't and wants one? (would have to ask them if they allow transfers though)

I was travelling since last 4 days ! Did not win any giveaways and could not get any deals !
Would love to get it, if you still have it.
    They do allow transfers IIRC'

I have so many of these 8G, 9G, 10G lying around with nvme maxing at 100G. I am severely restrained by the disk... I wud prefer to have one large nvme vps rather than a dozen small ones.

  • I finally get rid of that netcup ARM

I am thinking of doing the same. Its so bloody restricting...... but it has taught me a good lesson in portability, now i might shift my entire lxc containers to docker or just make bash scripts for restoration.... who knew it was so hard to move containers from one architecture to the other and all i was using was LAMP & nodejs stack, nothing fancy.

  • I forgot about this for most of the day and my last check of the thread before hitting the hay reminded me I was going to give it a shot.

    with the dashes then? "-DEALS-FAT41ADFQP-24"

Let's say this, it will make sense and be readable for humans if you got it correct.

I feel like it's super simple and we're making over complicated, especially with the hits of "split, reverse and join" with some of the numbers being the "key" and "FAT" is the first word.

Closest I think I'm going to get as I need to be up in a few hours for work.
    FAT-DEALS-41ADFQP-24

I don't feel it's right, 🤷 who knows it might trigger a "ah haa" moment in someone else.
Good luck to everyone, pretty keen to see if anyone solves it. Or at least the answer.

Yeah, thanks for your learning experience, I guess.

I was kind of annoyed for myself for not pulling the trigger on it when the 4 core ARM came up because the only reason I was dithering was thinking it was IPv6 only. But I hate running things directly in the VPS/dedi itself, I've shifted everything to single VM per service except for a very few VPS I still have that don't pass through virtualisation (and for those, I keep them as single task or maybe single task + secondary DNS).

But getting a beefy ARM VPS like that and not being able to lock it down like I'd like would suck a lot.

EDIT: that's also why I'm wondering what I'm actually going to do with the lovely NZ VPS I acquired that's lxc based.

  • can we have some RM 7 Johor deals plsssssssssss

Ye, I usually prefer KVM over LXC because of it level of isolation. But if virt is disabled, this vm is nearly useless(idle) at that point. And i don't want another 5 EUR/m idle :D plus migration nightmare because of architecture diffirence so i get rid of it(stay with ultravps)

Also, netcup is definity caught up with the festival that my ticket regarding virtualization is received no response yet. Maybe i have to wait until next year i think :D

Yup same, no response to virtualization ticket from netcup.

Has anyone got a link to the comment where this was first mentioned? Obviously I missed it somewhere, but so far I've only read people's wrong guesses not the original.

Let it idle for another year :D . But i think there a lot you can do with lxc since docker is working in LXC and i'm hosting globalping probe in my LXC idle in chile with docker. Pretty smooth so far.

  • So no deals after I missed the certain green vm deal.
