I had revived some old batteries... The backup dud increased a little and it worked for 3 months with just acid without even cleaning the plates with specialized cleaning agent... Just acid and water.

I want to try it with my APC 2200va batteries though. They both are dead it seems.

Do it 😺😺 but adhere to proper safety measures while doing it.

Any videos in youtube regarding this? yup safety is what worries me. Don't want any blasts. :/

It won't blast.... Although it can be a little warm because of chemical reaction

Now where can i see the videos to check it first whether I can do that or not

I don't know I am not into youtube should I create one and upload for you later?

    You got a channel?

    Nah... Should I create one?

It'd definitely be a good idea to do tutorials on varied topics you are knowledgeable on. Would definitely love to see the home lab.

Homelab is getting an upgrade maybe in a month or two.

Share deets. And, what are you gonna do with the older components. Or, do you just mean the 400Mbps connection you mentioned on the Megathread?

Thinking of either going with am4 as I have a spare 3500x or get some xeon e5 v4 it's hard...

Both I guess only support DDR4. What are the criteria you are considering? Moreover, since you already have a spare 3500X, AM4 might be the right option.

Will be limited to cores but fast... Xeon will be more cores but slower.... Dilemma it is...

I dunno, 3500X+AM4 seems to be the obvious choice here. Something I am missing?

See it this way, 3500x got 6 cores and 6 threads while the e5-2650 v4 got 12 cores and 24 threads.... Both will be running on ecc 8gbx4 for now.

Oh, I see that now. Forgot to check the specs clearly.

And best part for little bit more I can get dual e5s and the cores increase to 24

That's dilemma on dilemma. The last time I faced this, was 4-5 years ago when I was assembling my first PC. Ended up playing "Inky Pinky Ponky" until I landed on ym favourite build.

Will prolly end up e5, I am attracted to power so I can deploy some VMs for xpress <3

Also, @TrK what's the tariff on the 400Mbps connection youa re planning to get?

If Excitel it's around 8k for the entire year

What? That's almost 650 a month. Is it an introductory offer or something?

Nope it's same for everyone with access to excitel.

    Those are hyper-attractive prices.

That they are I am seeing them racking customers after customers with their unlimited offerings and cheap bandwidth

Hope they don't do something like Hetzner and just overboard customers.

They are operating on franchise model so pretty much can handle the load... I am more worried about network overuse.

@TrK, might also wanna check with @sh97. He has a 500Mbps connection. Check for the prices with his ISP. What if they are available in your are as well and have good prices there?

Currently I have access to 3 local fiber operators, airtel, jiofiber and bsnl out of them local operators are cheaper for same speed. Waiting for Excitel to expand switch over.

Makes sense. ALl their plans are pretty cheap for what they offer. I hope you have already checked their latency, pings and stability though.

VMs for xpress? Guess, I missed some deals you guys made.

In India network is all messed up unless you are on airtel or TATA....

    Tata doesn't provide fibre right?

They do just b2b and a different brand name for other consumers i don't remember the name...

Didn't know they even had a customer offering on the internet. Thought they were only Jingalala.
