I mean about any available videos. If you have own videos, you may share some gdrive link or other file sharing service. Don't want to bother you to create youtube video just for that.
Both I guess only support DDR4. What are the criteria you are considering? Moreover, since you already have a spare 3500X, AM4 might be the right option.
Debian = perfect π
Not sure if Ubuntu and Debian are that different.
Also, @TrK what's the tariff on the 400Mbps connection youa re planning to get?
I don't have videos so would need to record some
well maybe in upcoming months I am cooked most of the times.
MOOOOAAAAAARRRRRR
Will be limited to cores but fast... Xeon will be more cores but slower.... Dilemma it is...
Call for MOARRRRRRRR!!!
BTW, did 'MOAAAARRRRRR' originate in the Mega Thread?
I dunno, 3500X+AM4 seems to be the obvious choice here. Something I am missing?
If Excitel it's around 8k for the entire year
Can we drop this topic please? It's a request. Scares me
What? That's almost 650 a month. Is it an introductory offer or something?
I can vouch for that.
See it this way, 3500x got 6 cores and 6 threads while the e5-2650 v4 got 12 cores and 24 threads.... Both will be running on ecc 8gbx4 for now.
Thats cheap..
Nope it's same for everyone with access to excitel.
Debian/Ubuntu is my obvious choice for almost anything as well. But, can't deny Alpine's tiny foorprint adn consequentially low load on the system resources. But, Alpine lacks many basic features that I have to setup separately. With all of that, I believe, it will end up using the same resources as Ubuntu/Debian. Correct me, if I am wrong.
Still waiting for them to expand in my area π
Oh, I see that now. Forgot to check the specs clearly.
You are on right track
Those are hyper-attractive prices.
Gonna stick with Ubuntu then, and pay heed to the age old saying - If it works, ....
And best part for little bit more I can get dual e5s and the cores increase to 24
@TrK, might also wanna check with @sh97. He has a 500Mbps connection. Check for the prices with his ISP. What if they are available in your are as well and have good prices there?
That they are I am seeing them racking customers after customers with their unlimited offerings and cheap bandwidth
That's dilemma on dilemma. The last time I faced this, was 4-5 years ago when I was assembling my first PC. Ended up playing "Inky Pinky Ponky" until I landed on ym favourite build.
Currently I have access to 3 local fiber operators, airtel, jiofiber and bsnl out of them local operators are cheaper for same speed. Waiting for Excitel to expand switch over.
Hope they don't do something like Hetzner and just overboard customers.
