Went with a Ryzen 9 Rootserver Medium from this sale and had quite a few connection issues to the VPS. Initial setup took around 20 minutes from adding funds to deployment.

After a few days I got a notification that my host key has changed for the server, got me a little sus. Tried connecting and it no longer recognizes my key or password and my services that i setup to run only work intermittently.

Tried sending through a support ticket and didn't get any reply, not even automated. Something strange is going on with their setup.

Ticket response time is bad I agree, regarding your host keys changed issue please check whether someone else could have gotten access to your account or your vps.

Do you have any malware on your computer?

how long it was till now?

Just surpassed 3 days. I read further up that a few team members were sick or on vacation, i hope all the tickets aren't dumped on 1 or 2 people.

I had similar output but I guess now that node is full AND someone is hammering the disk and CPU.

Disk write speeds have become 1/4th and GB has gone down to half.

Half GB would be quite harsh, and probably require a ticket to the support to see what's really going on there. It would bring this pretty fast Epyc to an E5v4 level of performance or even less.

I checked here and a drop of 13% is measured, since the initial test, which is as expected. Most essentially, there is no CPU steal observed, and disk is also plenty fast.

Around 1500 for me for the single core perf. Guess it's normal, but if there's any abuse on the node it should be taken care of. Initial benches here showed a value 2k+

Exactly. I know someone’s pounding the node. The write speeds have gone down too.

  • @FameSystems ticket #38199

  • Is there any possibility that famesystem will do this again at Christmas?

  • The sale hasn't started yet. This product will be available from November 25th.
    so funny.

Restock of Black Friday EPYC Servers Confirmed!

Great news! The lead time for our new hardware has been confirmed. This means we’re able to bring back another highly requested restock of the Black Friday EPYC Servers!

The RAM is scheduled to ship no later than December 11, 2024, and we estimate that the servers will be ready for deployment between December 15-17, 2024.

As with the restock, we’ll be starting a pre-sale to secure your server ahead of time. To give our Discord community a head start, the pre-sale link will be shared exclusively here on Discord several hours before it’s announced globally.

This is our way of ensuring that everyone here on Discord gets the opportunity to grab a server. Please note, however, that the pre-sale stock will be limited. If you want to secure one, make sure to act quickly when the link goes live!

Additionally, we’ve heard from many customers that there’s a demand for packages with higher monthly traffic, such as 10 TB. We’re happy to announce that we’re listening to your feedback and will also be offering packages with 10 TB of traffic as part of this restock.

Stay tuned for further updates, and thank you for your continued support! 🎄 🎁

    Geekbench 6 Benchmark Test:
    ---------------------------------
    Test | Value
                    |
    Single Core | 1613
    Multi Core | 7130

Around 1500 for me for the single core perf. Guess it's normal, but if there's any abuse on the node it should be taken care of. Initial benches here showed a value 2k+

Exactly. I know someone’s pounding the node. The write speeds have gone down too.

I don't see why anyone would expect 2k+.

Initail tests ofcourse will show much higher.

It would be awesome if you could run a full passmark each time you do the windows check and include the result in the screenshot...

  • @FameSystems i cant still buy Rootserver Medium this server amd epyc

  • Ticket open from the 3.12.24 is still not resolved #37679

With renewals coming up its starting to seem like one of those too good to be true deals, can't recommend.

I don’t think I’ll be renewing either. I opened a ticket apprising them that someone was hammering the node with my disks writing at half their initial speeds or even lower. They said they’ll check and just haven’t responded in days.

  • lets wait for the deals

Yes, unfortunately one colleague is ill and the other is on vacation for 1 week and there are only two/three of us currently working on the tickets. I'm sorry that it's taking a little longer at the moment.

Regarding my ticket from November 27th about VAT issues - it remains unacknowledged. While I understand you're busy with the extended sale, this tax matter requires attention. When selling to customers outside Germany, you need to either provide proper VAT invoices or remove the tax entirely. Charging German MwSt to businesses outside Germany is incorrect.

  • Is the website currently down? It's not working for me. Could someone confirm if there’s an issue or suggest any troubleshooting steps?

I'm having the same problem and it's been going on for 2 days now. It seems like they are on Christmas break.
