Use plugins.. go with the ecomsystem .. what they do you do.. for better tutorials and help later.

Yah, just completed setup. Some weird permission error was blocking it. Fixed now.

    running it on vps?

Yup. Trying it on the Ryzen.

Paying customer of shopify. How much monthly?

Not that much, it's usually around 2-3k and I don't have to be worried about server uptimes and backups ๐Ÿ˜‰

    If doing Woocommerce then perhaps...

Woocommerce itself is a bad idea.

But it works if it works......

I don't know, I don't like it somehow. But normal customers feels different may be. Once I used OpenCart, magenta etc for testing.. But somehow, woo feels heavy

It is heavy, but if you strip the front end and use it as backend things changes drastically. After the introduction of wpgraphql even I find myself tempted ๐Ÿ™‚

And you need to build a front end of site?

BTW, I am loving the RackNerd Ryzen VPS. Coming from older Intel Xeons, this is a definite upgrade for me. The core usage doesn't go above 1% most of the time. First time I am seeing that. Would recommend the Ryzens for anyone looking for some raw power.

I already have one.. in LA though.

Oh yah, the one you applied all your GA upgrades to. How's it?

4c, 5G at the moment. ITs good. .

That'd be a beast among VPSes now. You bought it last year right?

Its 3900x ryzen. If its 7950x , then it would be different.

Ok. 7950X is out of stock anyways. But, 3900X is pretty great as well. Wonder how the 9950X will perform.

9950x is just awesome. Seen some YABS in other threads. Those are insane

    Providers already started providing it?

    Redis is better.

Yah, just realising that as my data increases.

Cool.. you'll use it for more prjects.

Using on 3 projects for now, on the same server. Will add for more where there are constant MYSQL calls

Get a game like GTA 5 if you plan on playing a game for a long time. Since it has a huge map and everything, should keep you satisfied for atelast an year, if you don't spend a major portion of the day just for it.

Will think of it, based on what I win. But I'll definitely buy the Witcher one.. or Red Dead may be if witcher 4 getting too late.

Alright, or as someone else recommended, just get PS Plus sub.

Will definitely think , but first I have to win.. lots of time left..

Yah, go for it. Mind if I go for the PS5 btw?

Here is the deal, if you get PS5 give it to me, and I'll give credits of whatever I win. I am planning to get the item throuh one of the known in US, if I win. :D

Oh, I see. I only promised DaDev and the others that I won't go for the laptop.

You said you won't go after anything at all. and will be busy.. :D

You said that as well. I was talking about the scenario where you and I both become inactive after Dec 31 and the rankings stagnate. Only in that odd rare scenario do I have the hope of being in top 5.

Ha ha. Lets see how it unfolds anyway.

I am more like will be will till 31st Dec. In the new year, i will get some free time I think atleast for one or two weeks may be.

Then, you are in a position to make the jump for the laptop itself.

Definitely not with competing with you people. :p

No, man. Please don't say that. Forget everything I said. Don't give up.

I won't give up. But , I am worrying I am neglecting my work though. :(

Yup. Seen some in mega thread, and someone posting yabs as well.

Oh, I see. Waiting for RackNerd's 9950X VPSes!

Should I just use Redis Object Cache plugin for WordPress, or should I manually setup Redis for Wordpress?

try w3 total cache or litescache if on ols/litespeed webserver.

Nah, Took your recommendation and happy with Nginx now. Loving it infact. Went with the Redis Object Cache plugin. Just completed setting it up.

Nginx is cool. Thats the one i use. LEMP stack.

The only difference is I don't do DB on same server for some reason ๐Ÿ˜‚

Me too for big ones. DB server, and webserver. For small customers, well, they don't spend money.

I dump them on shared hosting I sell being in sg and eu.

Ha ha. For somewhat paying customers? Indian servers?

I have an HYD location but I only promise 99% uptime in India and limited bw ๐Ÿ˜‚

Which provider in Hyd? and why 99%? B/W we know it.. no need to talk

Oracle.... ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ Pay as you go utilising free arm instance and it's messed up now. It's up and been running for 800 days and counting, I think I will do a fresh reinstall next month....

Its working? i read they delete instances suddenly without any notice

800 days of uptime, and if you are on pay as you go plan they are good. Also don't do anything illegal and you are pretty much good to go.

more like their goose who lays golden eggs for them :p

Obviously.. they need money. If something works.. why touch it breaking some and spoil the income?

The philosophy, if it works don't touch it

    Wisdom words.. B)

I followed that, until I didn't. But, never on production environment.

    Its the mantra for production..

Who am I kidding, I even mess up things in production on my personal projects from time to time.

    You have clients?

Yah, every 6 months or so, get a client.

Interesting, what other services you provide?

Proofreading, basic web designing, article writing and such.

    You have some big portifolio.

Almost 0 clients though, and I am not even overqualified

    You'll get there..

Thanks, man. I will take any motivation.

TrK recommended both Memcached and Redis, but did say Redis was better. Noticed a few ms difference for the better with Redis. That's why I decided to stick with Redis. Might notice a hell lotta difference after large data is populated.

It will be fine believe me ๐Ÿ™‚

Hope I don't run out of RAM

    Download more.. :D

    LOL! Available on Linux?

Yup. Use the command. apt install ram --size=N

LOL! Heard you could get unlimited RAM by running this command as root:-
    rm -rf /

Use plugins.. go with the ecomsystem .. what they do you do.. for better tutorials and help later.

Yah, just completed setup. Some weird permission error was blocking it. Fixed now.

    running it on vps?

Yup. Trying it on the Ryzen.

Ryzen works best for WordPress, i have seen amazing performance on Intel i9 as well.

No Intel i9 is gonna be pretty expensive and overkill for just WP.

You won't say when you decides to run woocommerce shop with thousands of products....

Oh yah. An i9 makes perfect sense in that case. What specs would you suggest for 1000s of products and a reciprocal number of orders and visits?

Atleast a redundant setup if not cluster, i9 is fast and with proper load balance and cdn it can easly handle lots of orders without any issues.

Thanks, what's the RAM like on yours?

My dedi? I don't own any I was trying to get KS-A though.... Meh I will just upgrade my home lab....

So, how are you hosting you ecommerce site then?

It's on Shopify for some reasons and will probably stick there untill I am done scaling...

Oh ok. With all talk of WooCommerce, I thought it was hosted on WC.

    Well lol ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ

Any reason for choosing SHopify over WC?

Hassle and me being lazy that's all.....

Oh yah, WC does require hands on approach atleast for the setup part.

Paying customer of shopify. How much monthly?

Not that much, it's usually around 2-3k and I don't have to be worried about server uptimes and backups ๐Ÿ˜‰

Yup, servers you don't have to worry.

That's how it goes, build one in vue or react and you get one heck of a fast web shop.

In that case, we have lots of options.
