    Me too. Never been a fan of cricket my whole life (Yes, I was an anomaly among friends). But, still watched it for Sachin, Ganguly (Dada), Sehwag, Dravid, etc. and the gang. Since their retirement, I believe it has degraded.

    From my experience.. I don't suggest anything without a large ecosystem to newbies. After some time, it is fighting against the framework/cms instead of haivng what we want..

    Lol true, but if one want a website with easier to code into and some functions ready to roll vvvweb is a solid choice specially the multi domain work.

    Had it on NAS. Removed after one drive died. Always felt the Transmission was the reason for my drive failrue in the wdcloud.

    I doubt it was due to transmission, can be something else entirely hard to figure out....

    Entirely possible depending on the amount of torrents running, they're extremely heavy in I/O operations. This is made worse by running it on a SOHO router.

    Might be but I doubt express was using transmission aggressively compared to myself.

    I was agressive. Have around 40-50 active torrents at that time.

    The only thing Windows still keeping from those days is the BSOD.

    I thought it was due to constant RW activity of the transmission.. May be something else,

    Yeah that's my 2019 HP 15Z, Ryzen 5 1050ti. Not a bad little rig for $450!

    "Not a bad" is an understatement. That laptop had great thermal management (both hardware and software) for the price it retailed for.

    Oddly enough the reviews from Best Buy said the exact opposite, but I snagged it anyway and mine is excellent still to this day. Probably fixed the cooling issue with a BIOS update by the time I purchased it, I guess the fans weren't kicking in when they should have been?

    I was able to play Cyberpunk 2077 on it with no problems when it released, when people with much higher end hardware were complaining of constant problems, so I was happy with my choice.

    I see, maybe you got one of the very first generations. Pavillion series you own was later famous among gamers for badass thermal management.

    Yeah it seems with every iteration things change ever so slightly with everything from cpus, to cars, to laptops, to pc. hard to keep track of what year is what sometimes and what can be reliable

    Exactly. I guess it's the time for newer startups like Framework to shine.

    Got someone I know using it, seems a rock solid choice if you want your device to stay with you for years to come.

    Nope. Thats why I prefer a PC. Most developers I've seen like the MacBook pro though. I do like the looks of it. But non upgradability is meh for me.

    It's upgradable if you get the right tools, right replacement chips and a sure fire way to temper with OS core....

    I think someone who has to work to earn, and spending on MacBook to work, will not have that much time to put that effort. :p

    That's why we see more macs in garbage dump.....

    I thought it was due to constant RW activity of the transmission.. May be something else,

    Were you using torrent aggressively?

    Entirely possible depending on the amount of torrents running, they're extremely heavy in I/O operations. This is made worse by running it on a SOHO router.

    Sad then. I killed my drive and data with my own hands. :(

    Is the drive actually dead? Or just the controller in the USB enclosure?

    It's actually fairly easy to reassemble in most cases, unless you don't desolder anything.

    Nope. Thats why I prefer a PC. Most developers I've seen like the MacBook pro though. I do like the looks of it. But non upgradability is meh for me.

    It's upgradable if you get the right tools, right replacement chips and a sure fire way to temper with OS core....

    I think someone who has to work to earn, and spending on MacBook to work, will not have that much time to put that effort. :p

    That's why we see more macs in garbage dump.....

    I don't buy many games.. but will buy one game that I can play for a very long time..

    Get a game like GTA 5 if you plan on playing a game for a long time. Since it has a huge map and everything, should keep you satisfied for atelast an year, if you don't spend a major portion of the day just for it.

    Oddly enough the reviews from Best Buy said the exact opposite, but I snagged it anyway and mine is excellent still to this day. Probably fixed the cooling issue with a BIOS update by the time I purchased it, I guess the fans weren't kicking in when they should have been?

    I was able to play Cyberpunk 2077 on it with no problems when it released, when people with much higher end hardware were complaining of constant problems, so I was happy with my choice.

    I see, maybe you got one of the very first generations. Pavillion series you own was later famous among gamers for badass thermal management.

    Yeah it seems with every iteration things change ever so slightly with everything from cpus, to cars, to laptops, to pc. hard to keep track of what year is what sometimes and what can be reliable

    Ha ha. Somehow I never fell for that though. I was mad for PCs at that time and read a lot about them. I've been reading about computers since 98 iirc, even though I don't have a computer. I love computers.

    Those are sweet memories.

    The only thing Windows still keeping from those days is the BSOD.

    :lol: And, the thing is they did virtually nothing to fix those BSODs. Instead what'd they do? Redesigned the BSOD page.
