Chronic erythrodermic plaque psoriasis and the arthritis that goes with it. Without the biologic injections I will likely succumb to congestive heart failure. I'm currently fairly healthy but, without the insurance it's over. Sorry, this feels like too dark of a topic to discuss on Christmas. I'd be willing to share my story another time if it comes up!

Sure. Don't want to spoil your xmas mood. Enjoy the blast.. have a gread day :)

Someone's gotta break up this spam a bit.
@dustinc can I get some more data transfer on invoice 5167765515?

I also (of course) ran yabs.

Here is the what a 2G looks like in NY.

    Basic System Information:

    Uptime : 0 days, 22 hours, 48 minutes
    Processor : Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E5-2690 v2 @ 3.00GHz
    CPU cores : 1 @ 2999.998 MHz
    AES-NI : โœ” Enabled
    VM-x/AMD-V : โŒ Disabled
    RAM : 1.9 GiB
    Swap : 3.0 GiB
    Disk : 38.3 GiB
    Distro : Debian GNU/Linux 12 (bookworm)
    Kernel : 6.1.0-9-amd64
    VM Type : KVM
    IPv4/IPv6 : โœ” Online / โŒ Offline

It came preinstalled with almalinux. Probably alphabetically chosen. I am more familiar with debian. No hiccups during reinstallation.

    IPv4 Network Information:

    ISP : HostPapa
    ASN : AS36352 HostPapa
    Host : RackNerd LLC
Location : Buffalo, New York (NY)
    Country : United States

The disk performance isn't great, but is probably due in part to everyone hammering the disk with yabs and installs, but not what I expect from SSD.

fio Disk Speed Tests (Mixed R/W 50/50) (Partition /dev/vda1):

Block Size 4k (IOPS) 64k (IOPS)
    Read 65.15 MB/s (16.2k) 238.33 MB/s (3.7k)
    Write 65.28 MB/s (16.3k) 239.59 MB/s (3.7k)
    Total 130.43 MB/s (32.6k) 477.92 MB/s (7.4k)
Block Size 512k (IOPS) 1m (IOPS)
    ------ --- ---- ---- ----
    Read 269.43 MB/s (526) 377.10 MB/s (368)
    Write 283.75 MB/s (554) 402.21 MB/s (392)
    Total 553.19 MB/s (1.0k) 779.31 MB/s (760)

It looks like 1G port is performing as intended.

    iperf3 Network Speed Tests (IPv4):

Provider | Location (Link) | Send Speed | Recv Speed
    | Ping
    ----- | ----- | ---- | ----
    | ----
    Clouvider | London, UK (10G) | 795 Mbits/sec | 360 Mbits/sec
    | 80.5 ms
    Eranium | Amsterdam, NL (100G) | 810 Mbits/sec | 763 Mbits/sec
    | 86.0 ms
    Uztelecom | Tashkent, UZ (10G) | 232 Mbits/sec | 236 Mbits/sec
    | 179 ms
    Leaseweb | Singapore, SG (10G) | 450 Mbits/sec | 483 Mbits/sec
    | 235 ms
    Clouvider | Los Angeles, CA, US (10G) | 806 Mbits/sec | 492 Mbits/sec
    | 71.0 ms
    Leaseweb | NYC, NY, US (10G) | 861 Mbits/sec | 831 Mbits/sec
    | 11.2 ms
    Edgoo | Sao Paulo, BR (1G) | 638 Mbits/sec | 324 Mbits/sec
    | 151 ms

The cpu performance seems to be dragging just a little bit. One might assume this is normal as the node populates.

    Geekbench 6 Benchmark Test:

    Test | Value
    |
    Single Core | 428
    Multi Core | 438
    Full Test | https://browser.geekbench.com/v6/cpu/9606302
YABS completed in 29 min 3 sec

The CPU is a Intel Xeon E5-2690 v2 with an expected single core score of 589, a difference of roughly 25% lower than hoped for. I wouldn't brag about it but at this time of year I don't think it's a cause for alarm.

What does concern me though is that the CPU has reached the EOL and is no longer receiving patches or updates. I couldn't in good conscience recommend this as a production server.

I won this VPS during the first giveaway in this thread. I just happened to log in at the right time before any bots woke up. A big thanks to dustin and the community at large for making these giveaways something to come back for year after year. I would certainly never complain about a gift. Its wonderful and I appreciate it, but the aged CPU is a relic that deserves a distinguished retirement behind a LAN and is of limited usefulness to me.

If it were possible to move me to a node with a CPU that is current through 2025 that would great. If that is not possible I ask that you give this prize back to the pool for someone else who will enjoy it more.

    TL;DR

    Double bandwidth.
    Old cpu

Ain't no party like a racknerd party.
