Yah, I believe I had a similar setup. Only that they decided to get me Win 98 with it, not even XP.

Why 98? I got it with XP. I used to format the system everymonth and reinstall the OS, to increase the PERFORMANCE.. 🤣🤣

Yah, remember the time, we used to measure a PC's performance based on the number of times the XP loading bar moved before desktop loaded?

Oh yeah. I spent most of the time tuning the PC than using it. Funny days.. :p

Remember the application - SpeedumyPC and bviously, RAM Downloader?!!

Ha ha I remembered them all. And the flashy gif ads on websites with Download Ram ...

Missing downloading more RAM now. 🤣🤣

LOL! How many times have we been fooled by that.

Babe its to gift our beloved xpress. B)

    :D

You get the Nitro, you ain't touching my Strix. :p

Next year maybe, we will have a Strix in the pool.

If business is good, maybe I'll upgrade and offer up my used one next year in some kinda of raffle. Would be easier to get a used model through customs I imagine!

What if I shipped it all torn apart, and the winner had to assemble it? :p

Tearing apart laptop? worst nightmare. :'(

It's actually fairly easy to reassemble in most cases, unless you don't desolder anything.

I am bad at hardware soldered hardware.

Me as well. I try to stay away as much as possible, but recently I have taken an interest to it

    You soldered anything recently?

Yup, a router and my Android box.

Router? what did you solder in that?

UART. It helps you get shell access to any device that supports it.

Hehe, I think the last device I soldered to get uart was that little WD MyPassport Wireless device/thing they had

You all played with hardware it seems

Most devices are just little linux boxes and a lot have generic credentials (it's really sad). Worst case, with uart, you can usually see how to trigger recovery mode or trigger it within the console you get. It's fun playing with stuff :)

I'd be totally into winning maybe the TV, but I've been loving my 2007 Sony Bravia more than even my newer 4K 65" LG, so I'm just gunning for some account credit, or maybe some merch I don't have! Would be cool to have the new SwissGear backpack, I have the Northface one. :)

Hi @BlazinDimes -- Love to hear that you're rocking some of our previous swag! The Northface backpack was definitely a hit. By the way, that 2007 Sony Bravia must be quite the performer to outshine a newer 4K ;)

Was a $20 TV I bought on Marketplace for something temporary. Amazing screen, and sound that beats my $500 Studio Monitors!
