Alternatives for Storage VPS
I'm looking for a storage vps/dedi with the following specs:
4-8 cores
min 4 GB RAM
200G SSD boot disk
12-16T HDD
2+ gbps @ 25+ T per month
I have a system with these specs now, but I'm not satisfied with the HDD speed. I'm writing about 200G per day (but need the SSD for other stuff) to the HDD and want a write speed of about 100-150MB/s. Read should sustain about the same range, but only for short times.
Looking in the range of 40€/m. That's what I got now, but I'm willing to invest a little bit more for better HDD speeds. I'm of course open for other suggestions.

But i actually suggest you to open a thread in the request section... more providers would see it and make offers.
Oops, thank you for the offer and also the suggestion. I opened another thread in the requests section.
I would have guessed that 2.5gbps are fairly standard nowadays, just out of curiosity why is it 20€ more expensive to upgrade from 1 to 2.5?
I highly recommend them!
Hi,
actually i dont know a single provider where 2.5 Gbit are standard.
The point here is the reservation on the Uplinks. We dont sell shared lines by default. So we aim to guarantee that every customer can actually use the portspeed any time and not being shared or reduced by other customers.
This cost money. Actually a lot. Thats exactly why its not standard ( afaik ). Normally people who ask for high port speeds will also ask for high traffic commits. Otherwise the higher portspeed makes in most cases no sense. This way the higher portspeed is usually cross financed. In your case u ask for 25 TB... actually 1/2 of what we offer with 1G lines. Since it makes no sense to offer you 300 TB to fit the 2.5G, i decided to fullfill your request by adding a port fee for the fact that we have to reserve the port capacity even you actually do not really pay for it through your traffic commitment.
Normally we would not offer that.. but well.. christmas... and @sillycat told me to do it... so no real choice... ;-;
I have a few users with 1+ gbps lines, but overall it won't be used that often. Maybe I should stop searching for that and tell them to wait a few minutes longer. My overall traffic is most of the time well below 20T per month.
Still I appreciate the honest answer and will definitely consider buying this offer. I'm just looking around on your site and there are quite some nice options.
Hi!
I can offer the following in the Netherlands:
4 € per month per 1 Core / 2 GiB RAM / 20 GiB SSD / 1 TIB HDD / 4 TiB Outgoing Traffic
For 12 TiB HDD:
12 * 4 = 48 € per month (12 Cores / 24 GiB RAM / 240 GiB SSD / 12 TiB HDD / 48 TiB Outgoing Traffic)
16 * 4 = 64 € per month (16 Cores / 24 GiB RAM / 320 GiB SSD / 16 TiB HDD / 64 TiB Outgoing Traffic)
The HDD is ZFS RAID 10 with 256 GiB RAM as Cache
Uplink is 2.5 Gbit/s
