that's ancient stuff dude, do you still have it?

I think I lost it in 2015-ish due to a sketchy landlord basically stealing everything I owned and selling it on eBay, unfortunately.

sed, i would have loved to see it up and running thats some collectible stuff for me

I still collect old tech, but I lost a big chunk of really cool stuff to that guy. Unfortunate, but he's a well known slumlord and I knew the risks of taking that cheap apartment.

damn, that guy sounds grumpy old man, i am not good with them.... but i hope you get to collect more and show them to me

I've got some cool stuff yet, but a lot is in storage. I'll share what I can!

    1999 iBook

Ridiculous collection of sealed Dell OEM copies of Windows 95

Win95, I would try it on a vm

I am also a software hoarder, I might even have the leaked source for 95. :D

@BlazinDimes Is the iBook still working, or is it an older picture?

Old pic, taken on my iPod Touch 4th gen in 2012, unfortunately something I lost, which sucks because I had the matching iMac too!

Also, have you used all of these, or, were these bought off other users?

I think I snagged that iBook for $10 and got it running. The Windows 95 copies were from my dad, as he used to work IT/telecom for a company out of Minnesota when I was young.

Oh, I see. So, you are into hardware repair as well, I assume?

YES. Have full soldering, reflow station, and drawers full of components for repair. I strip circuit boards of components to recycle. I acquire free LCD TVs, rebuild them, flip them, you name it.

@BlazinDimes how can I peer with you for a direct connection?

What for? I have plenty of solutions for this.

DN42? Or running your own network?

Currently my network is in a state of chaos, as I just got back into the game right after missing the RackNerd BF thread this year. So nothing is really organized right now.

Ohh I am curious now.... I just dropped my ASN because annual ripe fee.

Honestly the only thing still standing is my Tailscale network that connects a few essential services, its a long story but I've had some rough times since I was super active in 2021 and had built out a large network of servers all over the globe. Had big plans, but life happened to take a nosedive for a while.

I know you are super active in 21 and when i decided to join in 22 you were no where to be seen, i guess life just gives you surprises ...

It sure did, I was doing big things, and it suddenly fell apart. Not sure I want to go into details, but I'm back!

glad to have you back, the details can wait, if you are able to stabilize the life it's what matters to me.

Thanks, that actually means a lot. I always enjoy this community. Ended up leaving the IT business completely for a while, switched to small engine repair, and a little automotive on the side. Happy to be back.

Glad it's working out for you, i also need to figure something out, the shopify sucks and woocommerce is poorly designed, slackware just doesn't fit right with me, adobe ruined magento, what else is there?

Actually I've been working on building shopify kind of website, in low scale and basic features. Halted due to health issues this year. It'll be in my road map for 2025.

A custom from scratch Shopify like SaaS?

Yup. Thats the plan. Not fully featured with plugins like Shopify. But a basic version with all the necessary things.

    That's a nice idea
