This is what I am thinking. Maybe a drive on my local machine with a Wireguard tunnel setup using DNS (I have dynamic IP). What do you guys think?

Check out Tailscale if you haven't yet!

    +1 for tailscale it's awesome ๐Ÿ˜Ž

have you heard of headscale? It seems right up some of our alleys :> https://headscale.net/stable/

This is the self hosted version of the Tailscale control server, so far I have been just using their control server with a personal domain for the added benefits.

I mean to each their own... im a big proponent of controlling all of my infra if I can

It's definitely on my list! I also prefer to control mine, but Tailscale is one of those things I need to stay online even if I lose a server, so I have been putting off self-hosting that until I am more financially stable. Which, hopefully with this new job, is right now. Things were a bit unstable in the COVID era for me.

    Congrats on the job!

Thank you, started a couple of weeks ago at $20/hr, and was already bumped up to $25 in a week. It's going well!

Wow... Wish I could get that.. Right now Im getting 0/hr... hoping to make at least minimum wage... but I dont think retail or fast food wants me because of my degree XD

    what degree do you have?

    BS in Computer Science

I went for IT Network Specialist, but I never finished.

What a weird world we live in, where being underqualified is a shame and being overqualified is a curse.

And if you get a degree in a bad economy or election year you are kept from finding meaningful employment for more than half a year XD

    Still figuring out.

If only you could customize the amount of money customs demands ;)

Actually you can, if you know your ways or got a couple of friends to dismantle the pc bring the parts....

LMAO.... But then you would be paying more in plane tickets or something most likely

It depends if you already got friends there travelling back ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

Some 10+ years ago I was a crew trainer for Burger King, those people I trained in are now higher ups, so if things ever go too bad I have a guaranteed backup plan at least.

Keep at it, you'll find something, and if you were local I'd hook you up with a fast food job starting at $15 to get you started, I have connections. :p

    Connections.........

Some 10+ years ago I was a crew trainer for Burger King, those people I trained in are now higher ups, so if things ever go too bad I have a guaranteed backup plan at least.

Weird flex, I know, but I've just done a little bit of everything in my life.

They should help you in case of emergency!

    Thanked by 1BlazinDimes
