    The Gold 6 is a newer gen intel purposely designed for ai/ml workloads. Sure it's not a gpu or recent amd, but it's definitely steps up from E5 intel which are fine for web services, but do not have any special ai/ml compute features built in like gen 2 Gold does. Also the VPS NVMe Gold 6 has much more IO available due to nvme vs ssd. Outperforms the VPS SSD 6 eventhough it has less memory. But yes, it's not as lowend and a bit more spend for the extra cpu compute power of about 30% average and 2x to 4x more IO compute power depending on your compute use case could be more or less of course.

    It depends what "ai" you are doing. IF you are chatbot style, with LLM, then no, wont work. If gen ai images, absolutely not. But simple chatbot with tiny llm can work ok.

    Quick honest review:

    New to the VPS world so I have minimal experiences with other services...

    Checkout: Process is somewhat clunky. From a user experience, the stripe payment option is not intuitive it all. I would not be surprised if someone less technical decides to go with another company simply because they can't figure it out.

    Highly suggest the owner really look into it from a ux perspective.

    After checkout: The UI looks good on paper, not as busy as AWS (nothing will ever beat AWS), however there are some glitchiness with the menu. Sometimes giant buttons with no context until you hover over is not the way to go.

    VPS itself:

    Go big or go home. I got the VPS SSD 6 option Invoice #15016994. This same package is significantly more expensive elsewhere. At least I haven't found anything comparable.

    Other than that, so far so good. The VNC connection is absolutely dog water slow compared to my experience on RackNerd. Not sure why. I run a light GUI from time to time and it is unusable using CH VNC.

    Spent an hour setting up a temp RDP connection. Still making tweaks, but speed is no longer an issue.

    Overall, I'm here for the additional memory. Only needed 6gb and came out with a 24gb box. I don't plan to use this for anything intensive (it's a playground box).

    Came back to say this was a PEBKAC issue. My terrible lifetime subscription VPN was running in the background. Immediate improvement after turning it off.

    CH's VNC is on par with my experience with RackNerd, AWS and Azure.
