  • @Angusthefuzz said: for example, pay the difference with the 75-off code and everything will be all good for renewal next year? Will I keep my extra core?

    You get 12 renewals, regardless of the term length. However, be careful during upgrades, if the plan you are upgraded to is depleted of NYE-75-OFF, it may not kick in and might remove the 75% discount. Check the invoice before commiting to it to make sure it is what you were expecting. If your upgrade is not what you want, then do not pay the invoice for the upgrade and send a ticket to confirm that you can revert the upgrade process before the VPS upgrade is paid for and the VPS is upgraded, there would be no reverting otherwise after that.

    That’s why I use quarterly payments …. so 12 renewals will equate to three years.

    By that time, probably time to upgrade to bigger plans.

    Swap : 0.0 KiB You had no swap at all. I believe GB6 needs some swap to return real numbers and something to work at all if lower ram levels.

    Try adding 2 GB swap then run again.

    You might have hit the host while under higher loads. Let me check because that's unusually low.

  • @dav848 said: it wasn't recurring?

    At $29.99 for 1 year it's a gift prize as it's at a loss on our side. It renews at LET-50-RIDE recurring 50% discount.

  • edited December 2024

    @dav848 the cpu cores go up to 100% per core by default and are fair share vCPU scheduling. The host is well below load capacity. VDS would be more appropriate for dedicated resources if high gb6 is critical. We do not have VDS right now. VPS NVMe Gold is also available and should have higher gb6 as it's a newer gen 2 of the Gold 6248 processors.

    I removed the 100% cpu limit on your VPS you can STOP and START it, since gb6 bench on fair share vps at this lowend price is critical to you. Just make sure to follow fair share on the AUP Thank you!

    Here are yabs a bit better with 0 cpu limit and 2GB swap. It's not a huge difference, but it's the vCPU scheduling fair share instead of VDS type resources, it's not a totally new hypervisor node with almost no VPS on it, and it's not a Ryzen 9 or EPYC 9554. I will have Ryzen 9 VPS early next year!

    Hey all! The VPS SSD 6 prize winners pending order completion are:

    @jet3918
    @liangnicho
    @kerm1
    @oak
    @pdalancer
    @gsea4

    You can arrange a transfer to another member. This must be completed by December 31, 2024. However, it's a prize transfer that needs to be confirmed by DM in LET to @CharityHost_org from the prize winner confirming the LET member they are transferring to. If any transfer requests are open, such as @dev_vps request, you contact the LET member by DM to arrange between both of you the prize transfer, then contact @CharityHost_org to confirm what member gets your Prize. We will not charge for the prize transfer as long as you do not order the VPS prize and then request a transfer, that would incur 15% service transfer fee otherwise.

    Thanked by 1dev_vps
  • @dav848 Just for reference comparing VPS SSD 6 with VPS NVMe Gold 6 yabs.

    The Gold 6 is a newer gen intel purposely designed for ai/ml workloads. Sure it's not a gpu or recent amd, but it's definitely steps up from E5 intel which are fine for web services, but do not have any special ai/ml compute features built in like gen 2 Gold does. Also the VPS NVMe Gold 6 has much more IO available due to nvme vs ssd. Outperforms the VPS SSD 6 eventhough it has less memory. But yes, it's not as lowend and a bit more spend for the extra cpu compute power of about 30% average and 2x to 4x more IO compute power depending on your compute use case could be more or less of course.

    VPS NVMe Gold 6 yabs:

    expected better Bench

    Run GB5 benchmark tests.

    GB6 is not linear for 6 vCore

    Thanks @CharityHost_org

    GB5 test is better reflective of 6 vCores

    if you don't need it, I'd take it (assuming that's a recurring price after the first 12 months discounted period)

  • Anyone willing to transfer their $29.99 vps to me? I hope to get one.
