You can reinstall Operating System 10 more times.

Also just saw this, is this a monthly limit?

YABS - Debian 12 with 2GB of swap created...

    Geekbench 6 Benchmark Test: --------------------------------- Test | Value | Single Core | 1010 Multi Core | 737 Full Test | https://browser.geekbench.com/v6/cpu/9546695 YABS completed in 20 min 28 sec

Can you please run GB5 test without swap?
    Thanks!

GB5 actually failed when I tried without swap.Only GB4 was able to run.

    ok.
That is not a good sign. Probably an indication of cpu resources oversold.
    @Dasabo

GB5 test should work fine with 1 gb memory

Honestly If that were the case, it would not work even with 2 GB RAM...

Here is GB6 benchmark on 1.5 GB VPS

     Geekbench 6 Benchmark Test:
     ---------------------------------
     Test | Value
                     |
     Single Core | 1469
     Multi Core | 2616
     Full Test | https://browser.geekbench.com/v6/cpu/9559756

GB5 can be run 1 GB with no issues.
Here is an example -- 1x Ryzen 9 3900x vCore

     Geekbench 5 Benchmark Test:
     ---------------------------------
     Test | Value
                     |
     Single Core | 1140
     Multi Core | 1152
     Full Test | https://browser.geekbench.com/v5/cpu/23191014

As mentioned before, I have done countless GB5 benchmarks with 1 GB VPS

We have applied this limitation to prevent people from continually reinstalling the operating system in a very short space of time.

Would you mind sharing the current GB5 test for “strong” vps?

Here is GB5 score for what I call "strong vps".
GB5 Single core score of 1500

    Processor : AMD Ryzen 9 7950X3D 16-Core Processor
    CPU cores : 2 @ 4192.084 MHz
    AES-NI : ✔ Enabled
    VM-x/AMD-V : ✔ Enabled
    RAM : 1.9 GiB
    Disk : 49.1 GiB

    Geekbench 5 Benchmark Test:
    ---------------------------------
    Test | Value
                    |
    Single Core | 1500
    Multi Core | 2824
    Full Test | https://browser.geekbench.com/v5/cpu/22751302

I will try to get it to you today once at PC.
But when it comes to $6/Yr VPS, I don't really look Benchmarks, but just evaluate that VPS is able to perform some small tasks & run basic apps smoothly.
I see my VPS doing it without any issues. No downtime & network issues as of now. So performance to price is strong... :)

I totally agree with you. Considering the price €12/two-years of the VPS, performance should be expected accordingly.

I have analyzed GB5 tests for @Dasabo VPS for all the data I could get posted by other LET users. This has been the GB5 benchmark score range — 850 to 900 for single core score. And this has been pretty consistent.

Now comparing the GB5 score of about 1500-1600 range of other 1 vCore 7950x VPS, this makes me believe that @Dasabo VPS is actually 0.5 vCore.

And there is nothing wrong with it. For the average price €6/year, 0.5 vCore / 1 GB / 10 GB is pretty good offer and as you have mentioned as well, it is good enough for small tasks.

@Dasabo - Kindly let me know if you disagree with any of my analysis for this VPS.

I agree with you, the specifications are shared and not dedicated so the score may be different from a configuration with dedicated resources.

I am all for transparency of offers posted.

    1 vCore / 1 GB / 10 GB
    is different from
    0.5 vCore / 1 GB / 10 GB

The reason is simple. 1 vCore VPS computing power is better for small tasks executions.

In the summary I think the price is quite favourable for what we give.

Yes, I agree. For the price it is pretty good offer. Though personally I would prefer this configuration
1 vCore / 2 GB / 20 GB for €12 / year as it suits better for my user case. Pricing is similar
0.5 vCore / 1 GB / 10 GB serves different purpose of basic tasks.

The purpose of this analysis to help LET members to make better informed decisions.

Your & mine spec requirement pretty much matches...
    1 vCore / 2 GB / 20 GB for €12 / year

Actually it can go cheaper than €12 / year considering this package will only have 1 Core instead of 2 & only 1 IPv4 instead of 2

Yes ... provider should be transparent if vCore is deliberately limited.
GB5 consistent score of 850-900 shows clearly that vCore is limited.

I know NTDEV and his builds, but this is not the kind of magic I expected. These builds work by tripping down anything that Windows can function without. It's like installing a mininal Linux distro, which lacks packages to actually work. Guess removing unused parts is the only way.

Then that's just for education/experimental purposes. If one uses Windows, it must be something with running Windows software natively. However the Tiny builds take just ~5 GB, leaving enough space for a .NET runtime and the application though.

I don't know if it's possible or can be done easily without breaking the system on Windows to add packages after installation like *NIX. Those core parts aren't distributed as packages which can be individually installed right?

1 vCore / 1 GB / 10GB is good enough for streaming trading charts. Something that one will struggle with Linux Desktop on such tiny vps.

For Windows OS proper usage, I have already suggested minimum recommended configuration.
