How to safely approach transfers?
Hello, apologies if this is the wrong category.
There have been some transfer offers that have been tempting to take, but I've been worried about getting scammed since I'm not familiar with this kind of thing. Do you guys have any suggestions for not getting scammed like any red flags to watch out for?

I would go ahead with a transfer only if the other guy has an old enough account with lots of comments. I assume people would not want to lose their account over a $20 scam.
And also I would try to avoid private messages except to exchange Paypal details.
Imagine this:
You find an offer;
Transfer completed;
1 week pass, original service owner chargeback;
Service provider terminate service and ban you;
You come to lowendtalk to cry;
pay first regret later
Nowadays we ask new providers about their policy on chargeback against a service that has been transferred away.

Well. Tbh. you can never be safe, as there is no escrow / middle man trading and not much staff and LET can do to help in case of problems.
So my advice is to stick to reputable / older members, which have been around for longer. Older members does not simply mean old accounts or with a couple likes / posts, as they could have just farmed posts and likes in BlackFriday/CyberMonday-Topics. Check the overall account. Get in touch with them and try to figure out if you are "on the same terms" and make sure both know exactly what is being transferred. We recently had people "transfer" open orders, which were never fulfilled by the provider... .
You could also try to split the amount 50/50 or use a payment method, which allows you to get your money / payment back. Be especially careful with crypto, as its loved by scammers (and people who are restricted from PayPal due to the country the live in (sorry!)) and there is no chance in heaven to get any support.
Trust your gut.
Big red flag for me is if they are eager to close the deal.
If you missed it, you miss it.
Better safe than sorry.

You might want to highlight the member and wait for the community's thoughts before deciding. As you are new here, others members might have prior experience with the person and could share their thoughts.
We give service IP to the buyer for final confirmation before they make payment.
We accept Goods & Services payment.
We include squat video for proof of life.
Now, if the provider deadpools the day after you receive, there's nothing we can do.
We include involucration risk and price increase risk in transfer offers, but these are just estimates.

the only thing i can think of is to let the provider to a refund to the old owner and allow you to pay it yourself.
Everything else, just as @Levi already mentioned it, is not secure for you.
If things are paid via paypal, the old owner has a lot of time ( weeks and months ) to open disputes ( after you paid and got the account ) and you will be the one to suffer.
