I am either dum or dumber, but I cannot place an order due to this message, "The nameserver prefix is invalid.
" . Literally I tried everything I could think, yet nothing seems to work.

    Put

    ns1
    ns2

Don't count the placeholder as entry. You need to type it.

It is a stupid step. I just type ns1 and ns2 type it out don't paste.

  • Hmm, it‘s kinda a bit weird, I need to put in the hostname, ns1 and ns2. Can’t I simply leave all these 3 blank? I thought I’ll be getting an ip/pw combination to login with ssh as usual

He doesn't send pw in email anymore

  • Can one change the hostname later?

Yes its stupid. But its WHMCS requiring it. There is no easy way to disable it.

Sending a password through email is very dangerous. You can set the password for the VPS once you are logged to the panel which is a password that you set yourself in the order process.

Thanks, let me give it another go.

  • Ah, ok, got it. Thanks for clarifying! So essentially I can use some random info pasted in and change it some time later in the dashboard if necessary?
Can the client change rDNS on your plans?
Well, as for me the first thing I do when getting a server is disabling root login/pw logins and changing to pub key authentication :)

    Edit: good catch

  • I'm happy to see this post still alive, and i think Littlecreeck no need to create another post

I can still say, this is very affordable vps, for just $3.5 you can get 4vcpu, 8gb ram with big storage 80Gb...
It's hard to say no to this offer 😅

  • Hi, I would like also like to apply for double RAM and bandwith. Invoice #192536
