CloudFlare Updates Terms of Service, Is the Era of the Workers-VPN Coming to an End?

Comments

  • I am surprise that they are not banning such activity earilier.

  • Too many Workers-VPN, probably they have assessed the legal risks.

But isn't WARP still there? What makes it different from a legal point of view?

  • How is it possible to use cloudflare workers as vpn? Don't they have very short execution time limits?

Perhaps the abuse is more for http proxy or socks proxy services?

  • It seems CloudFlare against users privacy! I have never liked CF.

tl:dr you could easily setup CF workers as proxies. The execution limits allow individual requests through, so it becomes a L7 DDoS tool very fast with multiple workers acting as "rotating proxies" with CF IPs spamming the target.

Another being that CF does not want to get banned in china any more than it is now. You can use workers to setup proxies on CF network.

Finally, some people have automated clouflared tunnel setups and are selling them as WAN-Tunnels for HTTP/HTTPS/TCP based services.

Finally, you could route plex through cloudflared tunnel as well. They did an update the block this for mobile/app users, but you can still use page rules to unblock it.

There are almost no restrictions, you can even target a region for IP preference or your own server can use its CDN to relay data, so it's almost not as simple as being abused, it's being used badly 。。。。。

vmess+tls+Cloudflare If you block the IP of cloudflare, then many websites will also be affected, to put it bluntly it sets up the umbrella and accelerator for many VPNs.
