Looking for VPS (inceptionhosting and crunchbits alternatives)

Inceptionhosting is closing it's doors and crunchbits are not renewing their LET special packages (even though I have opened only one ticket with them in the past year requesting VPS location change), maybe others have already found replacement for their VPS. I haven't.

Been super sick during Black Friday promotions, unfortunately didn't manage to get some good deals.

Is there any good, reliable and trustworthy providers able to price match their deals?

Preferably, with DirectAdmin license included?

4.5 GB DDR4 RAM
3 vCPU
125GB RAID10 SSD
1 IPv4
$22.69/yr

Also, looking for storage VPS at least 1TB storage. Anything below $3/month would work.

  • Requested @FAT32 to make a refugee thread (for inception hosting and crunchbits), maybe it's time now to do it?

  • If you have a yearly with Crunchbits - it's just a matter of opening a ticket and letting them know you want to transition from their yearly to their regular VPS lineup and you get the new server (with upgraded specs) at the same price point.

They do it as their own discretion I suppose, but considering OP hasn't opened a single ticket except the migration one, he'll 99% get to stay with the same price.

@Petey_Long @zGato do you guys mean I'll get the same spec for $22.69/yr?

    4.5 GB DDR4 RAM
    3 vCPU
    125GB RAID10 SSD
    1 IPv4

    Just with a ticket?

I'm on 1%. They didn't respond to my ticket for more than 2 weeks.

    Yes

It's at their discretion, but as long as you weren't a dick to support and didn't freak out on them for any reason, just put in a ticket and say "I'd like to move my yearly to the normal lineup at your convenience" - they'll ticket back a confirmation letting you know they received your request and they'll move you to the new node at their convenience (before your due date)

The whole "ending yearlies" thing was just a litmus test. People who aren't problem clients are being taken care of :)

    Hi,

DA + < 3 USD/month will hardly work. --Even less with 1 TB storage.

Maybe it has a reason that other hosters wont continue such an offer ;-)

If you raise your budget to 5 EUR / month or 50 EUR / year, things will start to be possible with a free DA license... for another 10 EUR extra / year a 1 TB additional storage will start to be possible.

  • I got Crunchbits replacement from Virmach, with 3GB 2vCores, 100GB storage. Similar price.

DA is not needed with storage VPS. Do you have any ongoing promo for storage VPS? 1TB+

    Hi,

with 1 TB additional HDD disk ( aside of primary NVMe disk ) its starting at 5,- EUR / month or 50 EUR / year. Basically we could give a free DA license with that ( without DA license wont be cheaper ).

https://layer7.net/cloud-server -> Intel Xeon in france for example.

Same can be offered in germany, but the CPU there is a lot weaker compared to france.

    Currently there are no promotions. We will do something in the new year. Now in the old, nothing super special will happen. Too much hassle, sorry ;-;

You can just checkout the website and play with the shop and do some config that you are interested in and ask for some extra discount via PM / email / telegram.

In the new year there will be a bigger rework of the offers. In general there shall be much more flexibility. Most probably all will be changed to configurators.

I'm already your customer. So I have a plan with 8GB RAM, 2VC, 240GB SSD for 40 euros per year. With +1TB would be 90 euros per year? If yes, no discount could be arranged for a poor south American, lol? 😊

    Hi,

no no, missunderstanding. The 5 EUR is the whole server... incl. 1 TB disk.

If you pay now 40 EUR / year without 1 TB extra disk then with an extra disk the price would raise to 55 EUR / year.

But we are here already quiet offtopic. Feel free to open a ticket / telegram / DM / what ever to discuss individual wishes.

And of course... i will be happy to give discounts to anyone ( including south american's -- even i envy you for the nice weather you currently have compared to us ;-; :p ) -- as long as its not economical suicide :-)

This one is a match for 1 TB exactly:

    They also have a very similar 1 TB plan with 2 cores / 2 GB / 12 TB or 250 Mb unlim B/W (a few $ more).

If you meant below $3/m per terabyte, then there is a 2 TB offer and a number of larger ones:

/ browse through the bigger ones yourself /

You are willing to pay at least 30 EUR per month for the server? As per the agreement we have with DA, which is what most others here would probably have .. these are not supposed to be recycled.

Here was the bread and butter

We can move your existing promotional services to our newer Xeon Scalable Gold lineup with NVMe disks. This will also come with a slight bump in RAM. The pricing will remain the same as your current service, and we're happy to keep you here as long as you wish to stay with us. While we do understand this situation is a bit of a hassle for you, all of us do want to thank you very much for your patience.

As part of this transition, if your IPv4 address was in the 38.0.0.0/8 range, you will have a renumbering change.

Due to the volume of requests, we're unable to give you an exact ETA, but everything will be completed before your due date (or we'll extend your existing server as-is until we're ready). If your IP address is not in the range above, this will be a live migration and your VPS will experience little-to-no interruption of service, and the entire operation will be hands-off. If you do need a renumbering, all of the above still holds true, except we will be required to reboot your VM and you will need to use the console to modify your network config for the new IP. If you prefer, you can also just opt to install a fresh OS, and our systems will handle it seamlessly and automatically configure the new IPv4 for you.

Let us know if you'd like to proceed with this option, and we'll get you started.

I opted for the upgraded service and have about a month and a half until my expiration date. I've been a customer for about a year and a half now and haven't ever had issues getting in touch with support so I can't tell you for certain what's going on there.

  • I had 2 yearly plans and didn't know I could move to another plan while keeping the same price. So I opted for Pro-Rated Refund & Early Cancellation. It's been 17 days now and I have not gotten my refunds and they stopped answering my ticket. Just said refunds are processed in batches.
