Btw did you guys forgot there's another provider promised a page 1000 deal...?

I don't remember who it is but they can post that $7/y 4g deal, am ready

    More sustainable 1000 dealz:

1000% CPU at 1000MHz each (delivered as 10 cores each throttled to 1GHz, open ticket to replace with 3 dedicated cores at 3.3GHz)
1000MB RAM (comment invoice number to bump the memory to 1000% i.e. 10GB)
    1000GB SATA SSD
1000GB monthly transfer on 1000 Mbps port
1000x /64 subnets (routed /54 but the last 24 subnets are blocked in firewall)
1000 pennies per 1000 hours (invoiced as $21.91/quarter)
IPv4 costs an additional 1000 pennies per 1000 days (invoiced as $0.68/quarter)

There is so much wrong here, yet so good 🔥🔥🔥

How rich is @dev_vps btw with all the Windows VPS (and presumably legit license?)

And one can always install the 180-day trial version of Windows Server OS, if used for development and testing purposes (not valid for production deployment)

if I see a windows tag here I'm going to take a loan, buy LET & shut it down

I have tried so much to distance away from windows but it's just sooo hard. Most of the time when I type commands on Linux I keep forgetting the syntax :s

    euw

Shud I take the plunge and just install Ubuntu on my laptop, does php storm work and Microsoft office work on Ubuntu right out of the box?

A new version of Office won't. Office 365 is fine INA browser.
Maybe try a VM first, or try out WSL2 on your windows machine.

See that's the thing. I have been running Linux on the side for almost 2 decade as vps, virtual instances, etc. But on multiple occasions when I have chosen to install it as primary os on my laptop I have regretted it.

It depends on what you need. People forget that computers, etc, are all tools to get shit done. There are crazy zealots out there who'll die on their own hills. Find your flow, choose your tools, get shit done. Anything else is noise.

    I agree but there’s a but

There can be too much routine, you find your way, but it’s not the best way

Taking inspiration from how others do stuff, and maybe not just copy, but take the good stuff and leave the rest can make you much more efficient

Even if it’s less effective right away

    There is a middle ground

Excellent point. Then, it's down to interest or motivation. Love the work or hobby, and naturally you'll find new, fun ways to get stufs done

IMO, Microsoft don't give a shit about piracy. It gains mindshare, and that's key to all of the ancillary services that are a) super expensive, b) can't be pirated

You are correct. There is an ex-microsoft employee by the name of Dave Plumber (Dave's Garage) on Youtube and he mentioned how he was in charge of activation of Windows XP or something, and how now it's so lax, you can install windows and not have a valid key and nothing happens.

He also speculates that Microsoft is getting money from telemetry data, or by some other means.
