  • Hello @labze Im using FTP1 and i am unable to use unzip php function, is there any option i need to enable, or is it not supported?
I tried checking in PHP settings, but there is no option related to PHP extensions

  • anyone unable to mount drive after ftp1 reboot?

    Thanked by 1admax

FTP1 is being rebooted now to apply another fix to alleviate the issue. It is not someone specifically abusing the system.

For transparency on this issue: The specific issue happening is that the system journaling aren't keeping up with the data written. The system kernel worker that flushes data and journals basically deadlocks all writes until the journal keeps up. It is such a weird issue I have experienced once before and is quite solvable but just have to adjust the right parameters. It is strange that it is no issue at FTP2 at all, which now sees more usage than FTP1.

Anyway hope this latest update will permanently resolve it.

I ran two test transfers about half a day apart, both times the transfers ran smoothly as one would expect from a normally functioning sytem.

Seems the issue has been resolved, hopefully things remain that way.

    Thanks for the update.

getting permission error writing to ftp2 now... strange, permission changed on fiolder

this keep recurring, write permission on the folder gets removed - anyone have ideas why thats happening? im just using rclone over ssh.

for now i've worked around it by resetting the permission on the folder before syncing.

  • Hey @labze why my storagebox with invoice no. 39801 is still pending and I cannot use username and password to login. I have waited since 25/11/2024.

    Just open a ticket.

  • Is there a way to see LVE limits from the cli? In /proc/cpuinfo I see 32 cpu's which is clearly not what I can use

  • FTP1 transfer speed is too low. I have wasted my money. though its dirt cheap, thus cant complain. You should set a maximum transfer speed (if possible) per account basis during high load. say when high load everyone will get dedicated 20-30 Mbps at least. i'm not evening getting 500KBps. @labze

Average network usage over the last 12 hours is around 300 Mbps so plenty of headroom. It is peaking right now so if that is your basis for the results then sure, but if you cannot reach over 500 Kbps then it is likely a peering issue and not due to congestion.

I don't want to feel like you've wasted money so open a ticket for a refund if you prefer.

You should be able to see this in the resource usage page in DirectAdmin.

Can't confirm the slow upload speeds, ever since the first fix (not the recent one), uploading from my home connection peaks at its 110mbit/s whereas uploading from other servers in the Frankfurt region is usually around 300-600mbit/s. Constantly available. And after the last fix it's been a pleasure to finally upload everything I wanted to.

    @labze
are we breaking terms of service if we using this for archiving and online backups?

This only applies for the normal shared hosting plans. Storageboxes has no limitations on what you can store on it, as long as it abides by remaining TOS. Primarily that it is just legal and non malicious content.

@labze I would like to use garage (lightweight distributed object storage) to replicate my backups to the Storagebox, but that would mean the garage binary would have to run on the box. I have run a few tests and there are creative ways to get it to work on the Storagebox. Would that be okay under the TOS/AUP? It should not consume many resources, and remain well inside the LVE limits. I just don't want my service to be unexpectedly canceled, and all my other services I have with HostBrr.

I don't cancel services without prior warning.

If you can get it to work then I would assume it is fine. However when I do not know the specifics of this workaround then it's hard to be absolute certain.

Restocked a few extra EPYC plans.

  • @labze DE-EPYC-Storage 1 TB is only 5000Gb Bandwidth now?

Is it possible to convert my 1TB Storagebox to an EPYC storage server? Like, cancel the one and add the prorated credit towards the EPYC? I kind of just want to forget about my backups and not do creative experiments.

    That would be @labze obviously

Iirc you are within the money back period. Why not just cancel the old one and purchase the new server?
