Welcome to 985!
Today was a good one, now we don't have to worry about reaching 1000 as we can surely do 15 pages by tomorrow.
Thank you. Please direct me to the buffet...
Implemented.
A category where I make it would be really nice too.
@lukast__ damn - you just ignored me like no one's business. love it.
Untaggable
Oh, sorry, forgot to respond. I'm ATM creating a site with longer lists, where more (including you) people will be on.
LET's do it TODAY
Okay 5 more pages again!
@MS do I get brownie points for attempting?
that doesn’t count
LET's do it TODAY
Lets go 1000 before the dinosaur wakes up so he can't close it at 999.
So while we wait to reach 1000 - what’s everyone’s top 3 VPS tips? Surely that’ll generate some movement.
Are you using web driver to scrape?
lets go 1000
1) Change default ssh port.
2) Install geoip database and allow access only from your country.
3) Never install CWP (Centos/Control Web Panel).
Just make sure to secure your VPS before you let it idle for the next few years, this custom memory allocator is sort of schizo tier but I suggest it if you're just going to idle. Obviously everyone knows to do the basics so may as well suggest something a little more esoteric.
I won't say how I do it exactly, because otherwise Cloudflare would maybe try to block that method, but I don't use any headless browser or similar things if you meant that.
Not that poster but I just create a http client using golang, I only set the appropriate headers and everything seems to work fine for scraping lowendtalk.
FORWARDDDDDDD To the 1000th
Emgh naughty naughty 🤭🤭
Close all incoming ports except 443.
Connect to SSH via tailscale.
Enable unattended security updates
what's the problem with CWP?
Cockpit is nice.
bookmarking that to check out! thanks for sharing!
yeah i do this too. tailscale works so great!
