  I honestly have nothing against purple daddy so my critique is more about the practice itself rather than the provider, if NC does it as well that's just as bad

  If everyone starts to do it the result is basically the same as if no one did it but reading threads is much harder

  We did it for a giveaway on an offer thread a few months back, but it was 1 entry per user not "we're totaling up comment counts"

  It ended up being too much work when running said giveaway, so it didn't get repeated. lol
