@Frosby This was on my YouTube feed today -

    Damn chrome tracking.

Use Firefox without any privacy addons. Maybe time to add those as well.

We don't know how they even tracking. Some times we get product recommendations or news recommendations when we discuss things at home. I think may be its my echo.

I have had the same experience. Musk once mentioned the new AirPods (unreleased, Ig) had the capability to read brain signals - https://www.letemsvetemapplem.eu/en/2024/08/19/elon-musk-rekl-ze-airpods-jsou-nejnebezpecnejsi-produkt-na-svete-akorat-ze-vubec/

It's scary why my phone could be doing, when even smaller AirPods are capable of that.

Just had some experience few hours back. Me and my wife were discussing about our weights. 5 minutes later a notification came on my wife's mobile about some news article for weight loss. :D

This is, to say the very least, scary!

Obviously. These experiences are getting frequent. Have to turnoff some devices and test this.

I don't think anything will work. We are surrounded by Chinese made smartphones. Until or unless someone's ready to make a very deep dive into these devices, we will never know for sure.

The reason i run own adguard DNS server is to block almost all the analytics and telemetry services from the devices i own, on the run i am the DNS over TLS running on my devices if not connected to a VPN service(again on one of my servers), I am thinking of adding another server with 3500x(got spare), GA A520m K, 32GB ECC DDR4, 1-2TB nvme and 2x 2-4TB HDD in RAID10, for bunch of containers and services, i will be relying on using CF tunnel and tailscale. The 3500x will be throttled at 45w max with full load and i might use an old gt720 low profile for occasional checkups requiring a display output.

NextDNS is also nice! It has some blocklists. And if you also have linux machines you can add Steven Black's hosts file

RN support did two rDNS updates in two minutes even writing me that it's done. In just two minutes, I would rate it insane.

Two away from winning the prize Nearest time

This time, Dustin did mix it up. The instructions have earlier pointed to RN's YouTube channel. But, this is the first time that we have been pointed to a page number and then the video. Challenges are getting interesting. F5 + fast fingers and mind form the key.

Hi @noob404 -- You noticed! We love mixing things up and keeping things creative. Makes the giveaways more fun and interesting :)

Quick thinking and fast fingers definitely help with these! Appreciate you being part of the fun.

I see @noob404 is running away with first place again. Why am I not surprised.

He is no longer noob. He needs to change his username. :p

No, his name says he's no longer a noob, typical 404

    Noob not found. :D

I asked him once about it, he said it just came into his mind hehe

With that name, he avoids unnecessary attention. ;)

    He's sneaky for sure

Of course, or else how come he moved past 5k+ when no one else even move past 2k mark yet. :p

He's a robot, I wonder wether frank can beat his daily post record in this thread. I think it was 500 or 600

No sweat I've crushed that number in the past, so has @TrK.

You definitely have, and I always love seeing the dedication! By the way, the numbers we're seeing are quite impressive. When I see this level of activity, it reminds me why I love being part of this community. #RackNerdGang 👊

I was working and then, decided to check what's up on the thread. I opened it to 94 comments. My first thought was, damn, a bunch of missed GAs. Turns our Frank was here. So, what has he decided? He gonna join us every now and then, or just turn during the last few days and show us how it's done?

Hi @noob404 -- Hahaha, Frank is always known to shake things up! @FrankZ come on in my dude, show us those record breaking numbers, let's party! The thread is hot, and we could use your energy to take it up another level 🔥

Hey yall! I finally got around to it, but yesterday my final piece of rack nerd swag arrived in the mail! I wanted to share a picture of all the sweet stuff that I got hooked up with from these give aways that have been going on in this thread. Please do not mind all the dust and dirt on the desk, I am a bit over due for some cleaning.

Also thanks to Dustin for putting on this black friday give away thread! It has been a blast participating in all these give aways with every one! I hope every one else that has won some swag has gotten a chance to enjoy it! Together we will spread the great word of rack nerd!

Looking forward to the give aways and flash deals to come! Do not fret if you have not had a chance to win anything yet! There is surely more to come!

Hi @Beniskickbutt -- Wow! Love that. Really makes me happy to see the swag all together like this, and more importantly that it made its way to you safely ❤️

Thank You for sharing this, and for being part of the party!

Since past few blackfridays, I actually haven't gone for another VPS or an upgrade to service.

When I joined racknerd, I was given a free vps and it was merged with another paid VPS i bought after testing the services, I continued to hold onto it as my primary and ONLY service along with a web hosting plan from @dustinc .

Eventually with the passage of times, 4 years down the years I do feel the storage is insufficient for my needs, given great deals given around by providers in this BF sale.

However i would still want RN to be my primary provider.

@dustinc please advise if someone wants an upgrade to their existing VPS without going for a new one which way would it be?

Hi @godslayer -- Thank You for being a loyal customer of RackNerd over the years! We're a flexible company, and we love working with long term clients such as yourself to ensure they continue to get great value from their services.

Just shoot me an email at [email protected] referencing this comment, and include a brief description of what you're looking to accomplish, and I'll make sure we get you taken care of with an attractive upgrade to meet your storage needs :)

Again, we sincerely appreciate your continued business and trust in RackNerd through the years!

I can not believe the day is finally upon us. Time flies when you are having so much fun! It feels like it was just yesterday I was looking for a new VPS provider when I happened to stumble into what was the very beginnings of this 2024 racknerd black friday give away and crazy deals thread.

Look how far we have come as a community! We have reached THREE MILLION AND TWO HUNDRED THOUSAND VIEWS!!! Not only that, we have also reached FREAKING EIGHT HUNDRED FIFTY THREE PAGES AND TWENTY FIVE THOUSAND SIX HUNDRED COMMENTS!! That is just insane! We all did this together with Noob 404 pulling up a lot of the slack!

Never did I anticipate what I was stepping into when I first clicked this thread just simply trying to find the best deals for a new VPS provider. I have to say I am probably here to stay now. My flash sale I grabbed was quite a deal and I am all in on the swag to go start spreading the word in the street.

It has been my honor and privilege to participate in this thread with all of you in the community and I am excited to see what the end of this give away will bring! Good luck to every one out there and may the odds be in your favor! Hopefully you get to pick up some sweet new toys! It has been quite the adventure and excited to see what the next few days will bring us!

Hi @Beniskickbutt -- This truly warms my heart! Thank you for such an amazing message. We're equally shocked by the growth of this thread, and more importantly - the amazing community that has formed. From casual browsers to dedicated participants like yourself, everyone has played a role in making this what it is today.

The numbers are mind blowing - 3.4M views, 868 pages... we outdid ourselves this year! But what matters most is the genuine connections and excitement we've created together :)

Would you believe we still have some surprises left? Make sure your F5 keys are in working order B)
