What kind of magic can a 1 vCore / 1 GB VPS perform?

Hello
I'm curious about the performance and capabilities of a VPS with the following specs: 1 vCore and 1 GB of RAM.
How powerful is it really? What kinds of tasks or applications can it handle efficiently? Are there any limitations I should be aware of with this kind of configuration?

Sometimes they’re so powerful that they can make you buy it, even when you don’t need it, and will most likely idle it.

its so powerful when you run

    apt

    this appears

  • Attracting dust.

Many answers have already been given from above, I would like to tell you about my personal experience. I used a VPS of this kind and was able to host Gnome Desktop, a database, as well as Apache2 and some kind of website that I could access. It seems like even a CS GO server can be placed on such a VPS

It can do a lot, it can struggle with basic tasks...

Some applications are more complex than others.

At face value, that can be a capable VPS.

    API server....
To learn a new OS on remote machine...
    Literally anything 😅

  • It can handle 50-100 thousand NTP requests per second. This was is humming along even with full tcpdump analyzing the requests, my guesstimate is serving over 10 million clients at peak (at average poll interval 600 seconds):
