Yeah pretty much safe, my 10th gen ipad from RN balckfriday last year was delivered to me perfectly safe and sound. I get like 2 parcels in year from US all wth same forwarding company and logistics just because i had good experience with them on the first time.

Yeah, not into apple ecosystem, and apple fanboy their product(especially tabs and mac mini) are just that good. I like how my iPad can work with apps my android Tab can't and i like the fact how my android tab can do whatever i want apart from performance while my iPad only get performance marks nothing more nothing less. I can't do my work on android tab but i can't read my books on iPad it's a dilemma.

Slab-based taxation, if properly done, is a necessity here. Countries like UAE have a more or less monotonous population, with almost everyone having a respectable income, unlike India, where the gap between the rich and the poor is often very wide.

The slab going for 28% on some electronics isn't justifiable even if we say we giving tax fee veggies.

Oh, sorry, I thought you meant income tax. Yah, the slab on products is indiscriminate in some cases, esp. when GST also works on similar slabs.

I was talking about that only, GST slabs shouldn't have been implemented there should have been a flat tax rate for each and every product and that's that, you get tax benefits and citizens get cheaper products and imports become cheaper.

Makes sense. There shoulda been 3 slabs in my opinion:
1. Low rate: Essentials (meds, etc.)
2. High rate: Luxury and sin goods (Your Chivas price might go up though )
3. Fixed rate: All others

it's already high, given they charge GST and VAT on that, that's the reason you get different prices in different states.

It would be around $700 in India right now, electronic prices in India are usually higher than in wester markets but it all depends. Few parts are cheap as well.

I think that's very similar pricing. You have really good pricing then. Seems like customs are forcing you to buy locally

I disagree here. Except for a very few goods (ATF, petrol, diesel, etc.), VAT, subsumed under GST is uniform across states. Did research a few years ago. Not sure if anything has changed.

State-wise or port-wise difference in customs duty is entirely due to the arbitrariness of the MRP calculation.

Yeah pretty much safe, my 10th gen ipad from RN balckfriday last year was delivered to me perfectly safe and sound. I get like 2 parcels in year from US all wth same forwarding company and logistics just because i had good experience with them on the first time.

Yeah, not into apple ecosystem, and apple fanboy their product(especially tabs and mac mini) are just that good. I like how my iPad can work with apps my android Tab can't and i like the fact how my android tab can do whatever i want apart from performance while my iPad only get performance marks nothing more nothing less. I can't do my work on android tab but i can't read my books on iPad it's a dilemma.

It would be around $700 in India right now, electronic prices in India are usually higher than in wester markets but it all depends. Few parts are cheap as well.

I think that's very similar pricing. You have really good pricing then. Seems like customs are forcing you to buy locally

Yah, cause pricing for alcohol products and liquor hasn't been subsumed under GST. Some states' financial ecosystem would straight up collapse if that were to happen

If you are near the NCR region, I have heard the prices are pretty low compared to the other states.

Yeah not like regularly but I have like 2-3 parcels from them in a year.

it depends, i wrote like an entire essay explaining things about Indian customs in a thread here. The customs will be around 38% of the CIF, CIF is declared product value + shipping charge.

i usually have the invoice removed and show them undervalued(like $50-$100 less than the actual price), for i pad mini i am imagining i would end up paying like $150 including shipping and customs + taxes.

Yeah pretty much safe, my 10th gen ipad from RN balckfriday last year was delivered to me perfectly safe and sound. I get like 2 parcels in year from US all wth same forwarding company and logistics just because i had good experience with them on the first time.

Yeah, not into apple ecosystem, and apple fanboy their product(especially tabs and mac mini) are just that good. I like how my iPad can work with apps my android Tab can't and i like the fact how my android tab can do whatever i want apart from performance while my iPad only get performance marks nothing more nothing less. I can't do my work on android tab but i can't read my books on iPad it's a dilemma.

The apps can't be ported to apple unless i jailbreak or use something entirely made out of webapp and i am lazy to do both.

There are but being me as the open source advocative i don't go blindly for any app available there, also there are not many which can help me read books for free.

Ahh, okay. They seem to be on the top 10 for forwarding businesses for quite some time now. There are many today, but, not everyone of them can be trusted. Better to go with something tested.
