@noob404 said: Yes, I am using default DNS. Tried flushing DNS cache on my primary device and tried 3 other devices connected to JioFiber.
As for Google/CF DNS, I believe setting them this issue will be fixed. But, another visitor that might visit wont take the time to set CF DNS just to visit my site

if a new person visits your site Jio Fiber's router will likely query the DNS from authoritative nameservers, the issue is with their routers storing the DNS cache for quite some time rather than trying to get a new update, I mean almost every router, and DNS server does that. So you are technically fine. The reason i use my own DNS servers is because of this only, i am thinking of modifying my DNS and blocking the Deep packet inspection or DPI. GoodbyeDPI is a good tool but i prefer modifying my DNS server to help me achieve that instead of relying on something else.

Yah, totally get it. As for GoodbyeDPI, I have tried this on Windows with JioFiber a few months ago. Didn't do a lot of good.

I am not sure about this but when I am using ECH with ECH supported websites I can bypass the DPI block, so far it's good, I am thinking of setting up ECH on my servers as well. And a webpage to confirm if ECH is working or not.

Seems interesting. No idea what ECH is, but, would be good to read about it.

Encrypted client hello, your ISP won't be able to tell which website you visited with each as the sni given is different from what you actually visited.

That's clever. So, something that can be used on top of VPN to make browsing actually private.

Yeah well technically with vpn your ISP is getting only vpn endpoint you are connected to, but with ECH even without vpn your ISP won't be able to tell which website you visited, the only way to know is ip connectivity. And with vpn the ip remains the same. Vpn is vpn, while each is something I would use all the time even without vpn.

True, but, I don't actually trust any VPN to be actually doing what they advertise to be. Behind our backs, almost on a regular basis, the so-called 0-log VPNs are being picked up by companies based in 5 eyes countries or other pro-surveillance countries.

That's why you use let servers for VPN handling your own data is much more satisfying.

Yah, but, do most LET providers maintain usage logs, which defeats the purpose of having a VPN on these servers?

Cite gdpr for eu based providers, and many don't store logs so yay...

Isn't latency a problem for regular activities from servers far away like US and EU?

If the routing is good you won't see much difference, here's an example a server in sg for me have a latency of 42ms while one of my servers in NL is 45ms, I would go with NL blindly, even for a server in Delhi I would get a latency of about 15ms, and with multi hops it would increase the latency further, my surefire network chart goes with he anytime cause they are well connected to tier 1 ISPs. If you are running your own network peer with vultr, frantech and others who have direct line with he or any tier 1 ISP.

Seems I need to reduce my focus and time on programming and spend more time on networking and servers. Need to learn a lot :D

Networking is crazy and it's bound to increase the work load further  you can start playing with dn42 if you want, you will get an excellent experience playing around this virtual VPN network.

comes with an annual renewal fee of $65-$75 if you get it sponsored and about $1K(it comes with your /24 while cheapo ones don't). I have an ASN due for renewal. I am thinking of moving it out to someone cheaper. I am still searching, and hopefully, next year, I will have my ISP announce my routes for better visibility in India.
