Do you provide api access? We would like to integrate your solution to our marketplace.

Hi @caasify -- We do not have API functionality for ordering/cancelling instances at this time, but for boot/stop/restart/status/etc functions, this is supported via the SolusVM API:

    Client Documentation/Functions: https://docs.solusvm.com/v1/api/client/Functions.html

    PHP Code Examples: https://docs.solusvm.com/v1/api/client/PHP+Code+Examples.html

@dustinc , the wheel of fortune is still active? I want to buy a bunch of vps. Thx!

Hi @webmaster24 -- This is active as of this writing, we will edit the video title on YouTube to be prefixed with "(ENDED)" once the Wheel of Fortune is no longer active :)

P.S. Make sure you add all your items to your cart to check out in one go to make the most out of your spin - as each customer only gets one shot at the wheel.

  • Hi @dustinc how are you doing? You seems busy for the past couple of days. I hope everything is good.

I got hooked on Redis. It does contribute to speed increases. Now, I am planning to cache more of my functions. Just concerned about the RAM it requires.

Here's a suggestion, offload redis if there's a big enough requirement or just make a policy to clear old cache let's say after a couple of hours, will hardly cross 1gb ram.

Currently, it's set to clear every few hours. But, with fail2ban running on the E5-2695 V2 VPS I have, with 2.5GB RAM, not sure, if it can handle big cache sizes.

Oh man, this is frustrating. Will have to move out of CloudFlare.

If you read my previous comments, you can just bypass the proxy using CF rules. Just create a rule for jiofiber ASN and you are done.

But, I have already disabled the proxy on CF. None of my DNS records are currently using CF proxy.

If you are expecting quite a bit of traffic I will suggest you to offload the redis... Or maybe use redis saas. It's good and it works.

That's a helpful article. I initially planned on rsyncing to another drive, something like Google. But, just to get the project off the ground, I have setup local backups with rsnapshot for now.

@Beniskickbutt Missing your commentary, dude. Any plans on coming back? I do see you adding thanks to our comments. Busy?

Sadly at this point in the contest I had come to the realization that I would simply be unable to attain one of the top n spots for the winnings. As the realization has slowly sunk in, I have chosen to resort to a life of a recluse.

Now I stand by lurking in the shadows awaiting the next give away or flash sale. I dream of another few give aways of free upgrades for life but it seems so far I have missed the one give away in which RAM or COREs were given away.

As I lurk now, I simply thank those who have come before me and paved the path of greatness for this thread. I can not help but be thankful for the time we had all spent together as we enjoyed the rack nerd black friday thread.

Slowly I am coming to see that all great things will indeed one day meet their end but do not fear. Indeed, I do not fear the end of this thread but rather embrace it for all that it has done for us, the community, bonded together by a single common good. That is, the mission of racknerd.

Hi @Beniskickbutt -- this comment made my day! Don't give up yet though, we still have our main giveaway coming up - winners for that will be announced on the 13th! That's completely random and separate from our engagement giveaway :)

You're valued here in our community, and we sincerely appreciate the contribution you've made here. The fun stories and commentary :)

By the way, who knows what other surprises we might have in store? Stick around, you never know what might pop up next (hint: maybe some more random giveaways!) ❤️

@TrK You were right about Cloudflare and Jio Fiber. My website on CF just works fine on any other connection, but, on Jio, it's 50/50. Sometimes it works but, at most other times, it doesn't. Can't even ping the domain, but can ping to the IP.

You mean you proxied the domain to use CF?

Yup, added the domain to CloudFlare, but, had to remove proxy on the records, leaving it at DNS only, after it failed to be reached by JioFiber. Right now, it's at 50/50. Was planning to use CF for some of that browser-side handling. Guess that's not gonna work in my case.

I don't use CF proxy for my domains. Had lots of problems with it. I use CF only for dns management.

Well for me it works but jiofiber is seriously messed up if contacted they say everything is fine... And it's incorrect talk about irony I could have setup a better routing for them...

Problem is only with jiofiber? or normal jio networks too?

Jiofiber mostly and sometimes the entire jio network is miserable...

Then it is better to leave proxy off I think. We don't know if any other networks have same issue and potentially reducing customers.

I usually deploy rules to bypass proxy if the request is originating from jiofiber ASN, easy works well enough. But in general there are time the website won't be reachable even if the proxy is off and that's because jio can't reach CF DNS servers for reason...

jio network is that bad? Have to test then.

Anyone here got the Ryzen 7950X VPS from RackNerd last year?

    Nope. Mine expired. Why?

    RYZEN GIVEAWAYS EXISTED ?DAMN

    Yup. This year too.

    But, those were 3900X.

yeah , thats what I also remember

Yup, I can confirm there were no GAs or sales involving the 7XXX series Ryzen VPSes this year.

we will have some soon  I wish

Only if there's crazy demand for it. Are we ready for that?

    RACKNERD AMD RYZEN 7950X DEAL!

I think I've never seen a flash sale on Ryzen, even last year iirc. Last year we both continously asked for those, but chef didnt grant our wish.

Last year, those were already cheap.

But we like flash sales, :D

We definitely do. Maybe Ryzen VPS flash sale at last year's prices or similar. WDYT?

Wish to see Ryzen in EU location.

Hi @dustinc how are you doing? You seems busy for the past couple of days. I hope everything is good.

Hi @TrK -- Thank You for checking in! Hope all is well with you too! ❤️ We've been quite busy indeed, though that's always a good thing - being productive is what keeps us going. Very fortunate in that regard, and no complaints there :)

We're continuing to experience high demand for our services, and we're working hard to maintain our same level of service/support that our customers have become accustomed to, including our very fast support ticket response times. We're happy that we've been able to maintain that even throughout this high demand period during Black Friday.

P.S. We actually sold out in our Los Angeles DC-02 location earlier this week due to popular demand, but the good news is that additional servers were racked today at this datacenter :) We're currently working on QA'ing the new nodes and putting them into production, so Los Angeles DC-02 will be back in stock shortly.
