This is the result of pure dedication, good job @jar ❤️

hey @rsk . what about your dedication regarding the nvme speed of my vps? ;) and is it usual to get 422MB with 512MB? the vps runs like a steam engine. i just can't get gb6 out of it.

Bro you gotta take a down a notch. This is the second thread I've seen you in calling out people that happen to have commented on the thread saying "hey $PROVIDER, I have a problem with $THING - what's your response."

It has absolutely nothing to do with the topic at hand and whether you realize it or not, you're making the provider out to be unresponsive. I know for certain @rsk is responsive and for you to insinuate otherwise is absolutely ridiculous.

If you have an issue, open a ticket. If you want to ask a provider a question or try to elicit a response for a comment you made on a thread, send them a private message. How you're currently handling this is all wrong.

You know what'd be funny? If @rsk decided your $20/yr VPS wasn't worth the BS and your NVME speed went to 0 after he closed out your account for acting like a child.

i can understand your massive disappointment that you didn't win anything at layer.ae annual fest. please take your frustration and your spying on me methods and teachings elsewhere. i also recommend that you mind your own business and stop bothering me.

If you don't want people commenting on off -topic messages you leave in arbitrary threads instead of starting your own thread or dealing with the matter privately/elsewhere, I would recommend you refrain from posting said off-topic messages.

It isn't spying on you when people notice that you are walking around public spaces shouting "look at my and my problem".

this matter has been settled for ages! what is your motivation for bringing up this ancient post again and commenting on it? do you want to stir up violence and destructiveness? please don't bother me anymore. thank you.

This year jar has a very tough competitor targeting the same market and it seems the new one is more popular based on the views and comments.

Correct I did help a friend by sharing detailed statistical data from our entire fleet to help him identify the average resource usage per customer. I did share private code from our SMTP setup. I did these things so that a friend could target a different market. Yes that friend decided that he was going to run me out of business by offering utterly ridiculous deals (without even a friendly heads up) the same way he ran smaller providers out with $15/year VPS back in the day, because I turned down an acquisition offer. I so appreciate this being pointed out to me every 15 minutes.

But I’m not going anywhere. The business tactic isn’t new to me. I learned it from the best many years ago and I can play a game of chicken a lot longer than anyone thinks I can. I don’t blow up friendships to make a little money (but I will cut ties with people who take advantage of my friendship to make a few dollars). I’m in this business to solve the problems related to email and I aim to continue proving that. But if you just want 600TB of email storage for $0.69/decade, feel free to migrate to the giant server in sin city.

I may be down 2-3 friends who enabled, assisted, or are currently laughing together about how stupid I was to trust a friend with the information necessary to compete with me. But historical data stops being useful pretty fast in my market and I will weather any storm that comes my way. Because at the end of the day I’m still the guy that gives a friend the shirt he’s wearing, and my business opponent is still the guy who stabbed a friend in the back. I know my customers have an appreciation for being cared for. I know my customers recognize that MXroute was built on passion, that “business” has always taken the back seat.

Now I’d like to move on from that which clearly has nothing to do with this thread.

    if thats true, really pathetic.

    good luck.

It was super obvious to the attentive eye that this was going on when Fran surprisingly launched the product just after Jar published his BF deals, so late into his timezone, aimed at the same market, with bigger numbers than Jar everywhere.

Shameful. I don't need mxroute, but I refuse to support BuyVM because of this move. Cancelled my lux server and block storage a few days ago.

I know Jar said that he doesn't want to discuss this anymore, but I still just want to say that while I'm super happy with NC's web hosting, I won't be leaving MXRoute anytime soon. The email product is awesome.

Leverage your long experience in email delivery, make sure your emails are delivered when other's are not, and I'm sure better pricing elsewhere won't ruin you.

Email is the kind of thing even LET users (well, most of them) want to remain stable, long-term. I believe a lot of people would agree with me when I say that if you got a great deal on email, price-wise, that also works great, switching the setup just to price-wise have an even better deal isn't very attractive anyway.

    Have a nice weekend.

To be clear I don’t ask that of you. I think a little bitterness is warranted on my part but when all is said and done you all need to do what’s best for you, and it’s my job to make sure I provide that. Angry and backed into a corner is when I do my best work. Much like this guy: https://youtube.com/shorts/9yj7gWialMc?si=jPeCfhvYVGLPIapQ

Yeah, you don't seem the type to be petty like that. Fortunately there are people like me who are. ;)

  • @jar Let it fuel you, and please, stop giving away your valuable proprietary information (innovations and future plans). We already know you're a genius at email and marketing -- remember that almost all tech fortunes (large and small) have been made by second-rate intellects who were first-rate thieves.

I didn't realise that this is essentially a necrod thread and the first half page was a couple of months old, sorry about that part.
I used to have a self-penned add-in that low-lighted ancient posts on LET because the way threads float here it often happens, but since switching browsers that doesn't work and I've not had time to bother fixing it.

    and commenting on it?

Sometimes when I see an overly sensitive soul, I can't help but suggest that they wind it in for the good of the Internet at large.

do you want to stir up violence and destructiveness?

You make it sound like I doxxed you and sent round an angry mob with pitchforks. Enhance your calm John Spartan…

please don't bother me anymore. thank you.

For the avoidance of doubt: this isn't deliberately “bothering you” or inciting hatred/violence/WWIII/galactic-armageddon, you asked a question, I answered.
