Well, I guess, that's a great bday in my books.
Sadly at this point in the contest I had come to the realization that I would simply be unable to attain one of the top n spots for the winnings. As the realization has slowly sunk in, I have chosen to resort to a life of a recluse.
Now I stand by lurking in the shadows awaiting the next give away or flash sale. I dream of another few give aways of free upgrades for life but it seems so far I have missed the one give away in which RAM or COREs were given away.
As I lurk now, I simply thank those who have come before me and paved the path of greatness for this thread. I can not help but be thankful for the time we had all spent together as we enjoyed the rack nerd black friday thread.
Slowly I am coming to see that all great things will indeed one day meet their end but do not fear. Indeed, I do not fear the end of this thread but rather embrace it for all that it has done for us, the community, bonded together by a single common good. That is, the mission of racknerd.

You do you, but since I have been inactive, the leader board has not changed much at all, you can have fun by writing the story of adventures that CHEF is taking, as a way to pass time when no one is around, I wonder what you may chronicle as his journey proceeds
It's quite natural. Frankly, this requires time and patience. This is why tag members who have asked for it, so that they can join in the GA when it happens. A few of us create hype for the GA, so that the larger community can reap the benefits when a GA does happen.
True. We don't know anything about the Chef's origin story? Was he a Michellin star chef who quit because of the brutality of the industry? Was he created in RackNerd HQ? Was he a Black Friday miracle? Who knows! We need your imagination here to make up an awesome origin story.
My memory is hazy from last year but I believe there will random giveaways if there's enough people to create hype until the new years thread. Sadly, I believe most folks are away or only randomly glancing at this thread, not enough to create enough hype

Yup. Last time around we had FrankZ, the hype man. It was almost constant GAs then, if I am not wrong.

Well this is good news. I do hope my absence is not a contributing factor to the recent fizzling out of give aways and flash sales. Sadly I was unable to participate last year as I was not in the market for some new vps...
Then along came rack nerd and I discovered this community. Fast forward and now I picked up a sweet flash same and some black friday deal and I am now a happy customer. I intend to hold on to my black friday deals and flash sales as long as I can. If my pet projects grow, rack nerd has the offerings to help me to grow beyond my initial scope.
This thread has been success to get me to become a new rack nerd client and I know many others have grabbed some worth while deals as well.
If the give aways do start to speed up again, I have no doubt the hype will return just as it had in the past. The hype is there just waiting to be unleashed. It is there for the Chefs taking.
Sadly this is where my knowledge falls short. The chef is a mysterious figure that no mere mortal can really explain. He exudes an aura that is not of this earth nor of this dimension. It may not be "who" is the chef but rather what is the chef. The chef is everything and nothing all at once. He is an he is not. Neither man nor female, human nor alien, chef simply is.
I fear it will never be known what to call and what words can be used to describe what or how it is and perhaps this is how we have come to simply land on chef. Simply there exists nothing of this world that can capture the proper attributes and descriptions of the chef to its fullest extent. Even my attempts to reference the subject fall short here.
For now all we know is that the chef flows through all of us here. He has the power to draw out the hype we all hold so dear. For this I am forever grateful of our "chef".

It seems that our attempts may be falling on deaf ears upon this moment in time. noob404 and DaDeveloper were here just moments ago but it seems the growing silence as consumed them as well. We must not how ever let our hope fade! We must perserve for all those who still linger!
May we summon the hypest of hype trains to rule them all. The hype we can spill forth will know no bounds. It shall flood the rivers and forests and cities afar. For ever expanding, the hype will grow. No body shall be able to avoid the calling of the hype train and all shall find a place aboard.
The louder the hype grows the more it will draw in, the lurkers will come if we can just peserver. It is always the first step that is the hardest but as we get the momentum going, there will be no denying that the hype is here and it is ready. The people want rack nerd and that is what this thread has shown. We always have the hype we just need to let it out into the world
With that again I say once more. You have my hype at your service! I will board this train and ride it where ever it shall take us. There is no stopping this hype train!

It is always exciting to see these goodies as they arrive! I actually received one of mine the other day. A rack nerd t shirt! I had one more coming that did not make its way into the bundle. A coffee mug and a gaming mouse are in route and should be here soon!
As soon as the others arrive i will have to setup my battle station with my new mousepad and brew a nice cup of tea and post a picture to share. The images peopel have shared have been quite nice! We are spreading the rack nerd loving and helping it reach new physical locations it has never seen before!
Rack nerd was quite generous to send out so much swag. Very thankful this thanksgiving season for the swag i have recieved! They have blown me away with their engagement and offers. There is no reason now for me to ever go back to my old provider. Planning on sticking through here with rack nerd much longer! The deals I have gotten have been too good. I only hope I do not regret buying more after all of this is done
Indeed, I am sure there are many passengers here lurking just waiting to come out of the shadows at the first mention of a give away or some sort of flash sale. Some times it is easy to get caught up in the typing that you might feel safer just waiting for a deal to drop rather than talking. I know I have missed a give away or 2 because I always just have too much to say.
By the way, I think we will hit 800 tonight! I am sure of it. We are already on page 798 so only 2 more to go.
If I did my math correctly, I just did some scrolling and counting, this comment should actually push us right into page 799. That means we will only need a small number of 30 posts to get us to that page 800!
I do hope this is the post that puts us to 799 but there is a good chance by the time I submit it some one else has already laid claim to that achievement. For that I must congratulate them, I am just glad we made it! Whether its me or some one else that puts us to 799 is irrelevant. The important bit is that we did it together!
