That is my KS-2 (APAC-SYD) renewal. I was happy with extra 2x2TB. But look at the nonsense items and the bill which is totally different from original 42EUR renewal.

Not sure if we gonna hit same issues with those upgraded KS servers later.

    Oops.
My KS-LE-B with 2x1.9T nvme renewed yesterday for the advertised 9.99€, so no extra cost for the bigger disks.
But perhaps people with extra pair of disks will have the same surprise as you did... We'll soon know!
I think you can open a ticket though, that's not what you ordered, it's not your fault there were extra disks.

We should start to see renewal invoices for the servers delivered on nov 5th now. I wonder will people see extra charge for the servers with bonus pairs of disks (2xssd + 2×hdd instead or 2xssd)

so they change the contract? how they fetch the hardware info to charge?

Hardware info is available via their API. They can (theoretically) check your installed components. That info is also used for replacements…

But I’m sure a support ticket, mentioning the original deal price, should solve the issue.

I'm actually paying 1.55€ less, and I have no idea how they calculated that... My bill says 27 days pro rata for 8.78€ before tax, 10.45€ after tax. For my LE-B in FRA no upgrade other than v6 instead of v5...

Mine renewed this morning, no extra charges for the "bonuses".

Thanks! So @mrclown was unlucky I guess (or I misunderstood what happened)!

No, my script had a few bugs I fixed since then, I ordered via the website.

its possible using the API. I have had some servers with extra parts in the past, never have been charged extra though.

How is Gravelines vs. Warsaw in terms of route quality, stability & likely to not go up in flames?

    Very late to the party....

Warsaw is often routed through FRA anyway, I would avoid it to be honest if network is a big thing.

Go GRA or LIM, they're probably the best locations for routing.

If you need a good link to BHS, go with ERI.

    Thanks!!

I changed my mind a few times since

Newest question: If keeping the same IP for as long as possible going forward is important, without being limited by future deals, which EU DC/region is "least likely" to be a limitation of having my additional IP's bound to? That's far more important to me than having the best routing.

As I understand it, it's either eu-west-gra, eu-west-rbx, and eu-west-sbg or 1 other region. Clear winner one of the three combined ones, right?

Why don’t you get an additional “floating” ip? Those can be moved anywhere…

My Hetzner EX44 went up in flames. Maybe I did something but think it was hardware-related (have had no time to look into it). Everything corrupted basically (well, 50 % of things). Couldn’t even run a simple ’df’ without errors. Took it as a sign as I had just gotten my OVH + vRack + subnet (+ small stuff on top like DHCP and ip spoof blocking) setup ready. Restored from backup to a Proxmox KVM on the Advance-1 and so far works flawlessly.

Thank you for the assistance. Ended up doing IPMI > Debian ISO > Install Proxmox.

Struggled a bit in the beginning but I used the OVH Proxmox template first to see how they did stuff, and then replicated (ish) with my own ISO, partition scheme and filesystem.

    Thanks again!

An KS-LE-C with both CPU and memory upgraded.

You mean as KS-LE-B with memory and cpu upgraded.

This is something I never even dared to dream of.

    Yea, its truly a beast.

I was debating Advance-1 but how come those fio result are the same as my LE-3 which are Gen3 (when not using ZFS)? Advance has to be shipped with Gen4 right?

    Idk

Ping me tomorrow and I'll check

    I did this though:

Compared to my EX44 is was many many times higher (consumer vs. datacenter grade NVMe)

    ping

    Ping in ~7 h

    There is latency so...

    @TomasSystems @Neoon & any other OVH nerds

They aren’t an option for BM.

    Good...

    Thanked by 1emgh

don't we have the standalone proxmox iso? how to use IPMI?

Of course, I just quoted him though.
Even if you got no upgrade, KS-LE-B is a steal for about 10€.

Stabbing in the back would be if you look at Noxics 10$/m deal.

Looking at that, should make you feel way better.
Plus, look at the current Kimsufi prices.
