thats sick, indeed.
That is patently false in general, and even moreso in the crazy world of low end hosting, where people will spend many days trying to destroy the reputation of some provider because they did something stupid and the provider cancelled their account and refunded the $2 per month they'd paid for it or something. Who knows what those kinds of people would do with access to the owner's name and home address.
Sounds like a great plan. Let me know if you need anything. :-)
What would also potentially be interesting is if you could try to track both "company" and "owner"/"Associate(s)" where that info is available.
While I can't speak for everyone, based on my observations, some people just don't really care about the company information or about the people running the company. What matters most to those is finding services that meet their budget and at the price point they are happy to pay for, even in the face of clear red flags.
If a previously deapooled business returned under the same name, there would still be customers who would likely buy even if they don't explicitly mention or show it. Unfortunately, in this world of budget services, price is often the deciding factor and many customers will continue to choose and decide with their wallets as long as the service remains available to them.
I thought there was going to be a provider directory created when the whole paid provider tag was introduced. Just a directory of provider name, business site, link to business registration and maybe a few basic comments about the provider/services offered.
Never came to be, though.
Everyone voting yes will miss the $7 deal
Not saying I want to vote no, just reality.
