Lucky that giveaway was some reseller I think. Since then, I've been respecting the F5.
Obviously.. CF hates us... pressing F5 madly...
Me, I didn't even learn after that. You must have a pretty strong internet connection to be able to F5 that hard. What's the speed like?
We've burnt alot of pages in just 2 weeks!
Oh yah. I am guessing LET is on a paid plan, right?
Yah, 20 pages is like child's play at this point.
Slow ass me never seen that block before. I hope so this continues
THE CHEF RUSH COULD BE HERE, IF WE WANT!
Who's in?
It doesn't look like it's on a free plan to me...
brb in 10 minutes or so... let the HYPE be with you...
Its more frustrating than internet disconnection.
$5/YR VPS DEAL
The Chef is the only person capable of bringing crazy deals. The Chef only understands one thing - DEMAND! We need much more demand than this, if we wish to see him once more in 2024!
Just had to put it out there.
Yes sirrrr, this is too ez for us
Yah, with the load that LET is on, I am guessing CF woudla forced them to move to a paid plan at this point.
OMG!!! RACKNERD'S BLACK FRIDAY IS LIVE, GO HERE: https://www.racknerd.com/BlackFriday/ π―
Always, forever and ever.
Around 25mbps. I'm waiting until the page loads to refresh again.
Yup, all we need is a good topic that interests everyone.
Seriously? I thought you were on some 500Mbps connection.
Hi @jsg -- Got it on the VNC concerns, I created a test VPS in Dublin earlier today and played around in VNC for a bit, and wasn't able to replicate any slowness (even when I'm accessing from LA). We actually just use the standard SolusVM/VNC implementation without any modifications, so in theory the experience should be similar to other hosts you've used in the past that also run SolusVM. Our SolusVM install is pretty much "stock" to keep things running as recommended by the software vendor, and as such we don't really have any frontend related modifications other than a few text/language file changes (all unrelated to VNC).
Anyhow, I know you're already past that point now with the OS installed and running, but if you run into any other issues just let me know.
By the way, regarding your last question - yes, our VPS host nodes run 8x SSD's in Hardware RAID-10, so they are indeed redundant
Really appreciate the detailed feedback about your experience so far. And you're right about that support interaction - I'll make sure to pass along some guidance in our weekly support team meeting tomorrow
Oh no no. My connection is 30mbps speed. But with OpenWrt sqm to reduce bufferbloat I set it around 25mbps+ .
whats your speed?
Good stuff -- FastPanel is not too shabby either.
If I had fibre I'd get me alteast 100mbps, how much do you pay for 25mbps?
I'd just like to add that I am yet to face these issues noticed by the other member. I was briefly on a CGNAT connection for a few months this year, when using a 3rd party SSH client was a headache for me, with constant loop disconnections. During that time, I was unable to use Putty, regardless of any changes I made to strengthen it. Checking a few online forums, I learned that it was a known issue with some ISPs using Double CGNAT. I then had to use the HTML VNC on the Control panel. I never faced any slowdowns as such during a few weeks of usage.
But, if I were to add a suggestion, maybe a Proxmox style terminal, with support for copy and paste would be good to have, if SolusVM does allow for that without compromising software integrity. Rest, I have been using CMD, Putty and Terminal for quite some time now, without any issues. Maybe, it's a on-off problem that jsg is facing.
It takes around 200-500ms to reload this page for me, so that prolly explains why I don't get blocked
Hmmm never heard of that, I'll look into it, I l would love to have a low latency!
Thank You for the interest @jackito
