  • I was able to fix the network issue.

    In case anyone still has issues with their NY VPS, it appears that the routing table had been corrupted when the wide outage occurred a couple of days back.

    To resolve:

    Logged to the portal, and used the VNC to log into the VPS.

    1. ip a - did not show ipv4 address
    2. ip -c addr show dev ens18 - showed network nood state down
    3. sudo ifconfig ens18 up - I think that was my next step.
    4. sudo ip address add your-vps-ip-address/24 dev ens18
    5. sudo ip route add default via gateway-ip-address
    6. ping 1.1.1.1 to confirm that there is connection.

    I was able to ping from VNC console, and then able to SSH normally.

    Default gateway for you VPS is listed on the portal, under your service network information.

  • On Frankfurt since yesterday. 0 minutes uptime in almost 24h. One ticked unanswered. I can't do anything with it, so wasted one day to move projects to that server and not sure what to do now, if waiting is an option or just cancel and move on.

The server disks are being moved in the background online without service interruption and the IP remains unchanged. Few (up to 10 mins) are needed for the final step when the server gets powered off on the old cluster a small configuration change is needed and then boots up on the new cluster.

    The facility remains the same (Equinix FR2) and also your IP will remain unchanged.

    We'll provide an update tomorrow once we start migrating services.

    As the issue occured on a random set of users, we'd like to prioritize the migration to those that have been affected and also offer 2 months of free service for compensation. Please comment with "2 months extra" in order for the team to prioritize your migration and also provide you with the 2 months of extra service additional to your bonus.

    PS: The new cluster has the new storage deployed as well, so please expect gradually an increase in storage performance as well :sunglasses:
