I highly suspect I need to do some --to-source magic instead of masquerade in the above, but as soon as I try something in regards to the PostUp & PostDown, I fuck up everything

Get rid of the masquerade rules and do SNAT like this

iptables -t nat -A POSTROUTING -s 10.13.14.0/24 ! -d 10.13.14.0/24 -j SNAT --to-source <your floating ip>

This should change the source ip to your fail over ip for the outgoing traffic
